Weekend updates

Friday
Went to Marina Square and Esplanade as usual. There were 2 outdoor performances this time and we dun really know to appreciate both. The 1st one was an ang moh band which sang all the ulu songs. Among the crowd, there was a chinese siao char bor dancing on her own, and later joined by a 3-4 year old gal (not local but dunno from where). It was still quite an entertainment but really cun stand her. Totally lost in her own world and seriously like a lunatic dancing. Din take pic coz she cun stop dancing and I think I wun want to break my camera lens!!

The next performance was by some people who can do special effects (口技) like musical sounds (drums etc) using mouth. Really impressive but quite noisy la... Think their throats must be damn dry after the show!

Saturday
Finally managed to get tickets to catch a movie at Orchard Cineleisure this time. Wanted to try the new Cathay but heard the designer seats not so comfi so maybe next time when free. Watched "X-Men" and it turned out to be better than I expect. I din watch the previous two parts but still find it quite good, especially the special effects and storyline. I like the character "Storm" coz she's quite cool. If I am a mutant, I think I would want to be able to fly, but without those wings please.

Walked along Heeren to cross the road to Taka while we stopped by to eat blueberry ice cream from one of the ice cream stalls (outside ex-Hello shop at Crown Prince hotel, now HSBC). Its good you know, if you pass by should try. Its actually vanilla ice cream with luxious amount of blueberry cream inside. Its flows out sometimes...so be careful when you bite!

While waiting to cross the street to Taka, saw some people with 2 human footballs. Sis told me about it when she was in Orchard after her facial on Friday but I could not quite figure out. Now when I see it for myself, they were actually quite cute. 2 people put on mascot clothings which are shapes and colours of footballs. In front of them were 2 guys one sliding a trolly bag (like checking in airport) and the other a speaker!! Interesting!! Best part is when we were still waiting, someone used some brochures to hit my shoulder and I almost wanted to scold whoever it was when I turned then realised its the emcee for the Mastercard World Cup event (with the human footballs) and he's my friend!! Quite surprised and got a brochure from him, waved and crossed the street while telling Web who he was. Such a small world.

Walked around Taka abit amongst the crowd and then went to the library to sit a while and read some newspapers. Bought something to eat at the B2 food mart and took a bus to Hotel Rendezvous to watch the England Vs Jamaica friendly match. While we settled down and placed our orders, saw the couple whom we saw everytime we were there. This is a truly weird couple as most of the time, the guy will watch thhe tv or doing some other stuff like sleeping while the gal will type or do things non stop on her laptop. She even used the power from the lounge everytime. I took a picture of them this time (but cun load now...dunno why) as it was a good angle and you can see they really are very weird. The tv is right in front of them but throughout the match, they did not watch at all.

Anyway back to the match. Among the players of coz there was my idol, Steven Gerrard form Liverpool. Not much close shots but quite enough. He looked sleepy though. The match was quite exciting as Jamaica was really good in snatching the ball but din manage to strike at all. It ended with a 6-0 scoreline and I think to those who bet, sure lose money!! Its charity time again...

Now I am feeling quite sleepy with the 2 glasses of beer just now. Should be heading for bed soon...
