Just another busy weekend

Woke up quite late today even though sis not working anymore for the time being. It rained mdidle of the nite and I was awaken by the strong wind outside thus fell deeper in sleep after that. It had been yet another busy weekend thus was really tired and seemed sleeping is never enough.

Friday
Met up with one ID after he revised the quote at AMK. We had dinner at S-11 b4 going to Mac and waited for him. The quote looked ok and within our budget and will meet him again as he could not rushed out the drawings in time. We have also yet to meet another shortlisted ID as both our timings were quite tight. Had arranged to meet on Monday after work.

Saturday
Went to our new house again to collect the fruit offerings and made some last minute check and measurements. We then took a bus to Compass Point b4 taking another bus to Paya Lebar to check out some furniture shops. We alighted where there are 2 shops but nothing much, although the salesgal at the 2nd one was quite friendly and picked up a chat with me. Din see anything attractive or cheap and good thus left to walk to Nova Furnishing just down the road.

We were quite disappointed with Nova furnishing coz the furnitures were not cheap at all, and cheaper ones were of very poor qualities. The saleman was also quite gluesome and we left after briefly walking one round.

We then took a bus to Parkway Parade and had our early dinner as we were both abit hungry. Spent some time reading up on Fengshui books at MPH after we shared a scoop of ice cream. Realised that alot of placements for our furnitures might need to change as its no good for Fengshui. We had intended to have our study table against the window but read that its no good sitting in front of a window and back facing the door. The bed can only be placed at our proposed position but will probably be disturbed by the aircon compressor outside our room. Its really damn poor design of the house, especially the master bedroom. Guessed we just have to make the best out of it now...

Sunday
Went down to the BS and tried on my wedding gown. Looked ok but needed some alterations at the shoulder straps and trim the waistline abit. Embriodery not sewn yet thus it looked quite plain now. It was unexpectedly quite heavy coz they used satin as the base. Dun quite like that but bo bian now...

Were then discussing on the evening gown and at 1st thought of not having one coz will use my ROM dress (which looked like a gown anyway) but they could not give me anything in exchange so decided to go ahead with it anyway. Vivian (my designer) proposed blue colour so I leave it to her, since I will not be keeping it. We have also arranged our photoshoot to be on 14 June (Thurs) and had to be there by 10am.

Walked to Chinatown after that and took a bus to Rochor area to check out a furniture shop and in search for an altar table and Guan Yin statue. We saw one at a shop near the temple and quite like it and cun seem to find it anywhere else. Hopefully it's still available when we go there again soon.

Was then searching for altar tables at Fu Lu Shou Complex and realised alot were quite huge and costly (from $400+). Finally saw a more reasonable one at Rochor Centre and cost ard $300. We would most probably order it from there (plus maybe some chairs if price is cheap) the next round we buy our Guan Yin statue.

We still had some time so took a bus to Geylang to check out 2 more shops selling praying stuff but nothing much we liked so walked to the nearby Tanjong Katong Shopping Centre (Paya Lebar). Saw few furniture shops there and a shop selling those taps etc. Went to the 1st furniture shop and spent almotst 1.5hrs there until we have no time left for the rest as they had closed for the day.

We finally settled our bed post (Four Stars) and mattress (Four Stars Innus Detense) there which came with some freebies like 2 Detense pillows, 2 bolsters (asked for extra one so we dun have to fight for it) and one mattress protector, which was quite a good bargain. We managed to get them to waive off the GST and delivery charges as well. We also booked a TV console which cost less than our budget (after discount of $100) and had the delivery charge waived.

The furnitures were quite reasonably priced and considered of better quality than other places (of coz the one I liked best is still at The Furniture Warehouse). Too bad the sofa sets were quite ex (of better quality) and out of our budget. The dining sets were also too small for our needs thus will probably go back again in June to check out new stocks or will get from somewhere else.

Was pretty hungry by then but took a bus back to AMK and had Mac for late dinner/ supper. Reached home almost 11.30pm and managed to update our floor plan with changes (again!).

Metro sale

Met sis for shopping today as Metro is having a closed door 20% sales for all VIP members from 7pm to 10pm. The discount's not alot but still can save quite abit. I bought a green tee from Dorothy Perkins the other day and quite like it coz its quite airy and comfortable so thought of getting a pink one.

We went to MTM 1st for sis to blend her eye gel then bought some products using Xris' birthday month offer. We then went dinner at the S11 beside Centrepoint and walked all the way to Paragon. It was quite crowded as expected and we had to show either the invitation brochure or the Metro card for entry.

Went straight to the Dorothy Perkins section but realised the pink tee got not much size left so tried on another design. Looked ok and bought 3 tees of different colours and din look further. We then went down one floor at the cosmetics section and bought Laniege products. Spend almost $200+ and glad the savings came up to almost $40+.

Was the way out from office after rushing some reports for boss then realised my pass was missing from the lanyard still hanging from my neck. Searched for a while and had to leave thus asked my colleagues to help me find but no result. I even searched my bag several times and gave up. And you know what, I picked it out from my bag when I was getting something else when I was home... so weird!!

Food tasting

After one day's of leave, I was quite busy today. Was busy clearing work stuff then realised forgot one password I changed on Monday and had to wait for the IT Helpdesk to reset for me.

Met my family for food tasting at Grand Hyatt (for my bro's wedding banquet) today after work with Web. The food was not bad and quite unusual than typical wedding banquet items. It was until the last item then I realised forgot to take pictures!! Arrgghhh...

We were all quite full after the 8-course dinner. We also realised that only weekends have 9-course dinner, no wonder its so much cheaper on weekdays. In fact I felt that not so worth it coz like not much difference.

I then left with Web to take a train home while bro drove them home. Reached home just shortly after them and we all had a good chat until almost 11pm.

Eventful day

Took leave again to settle new flat stuff. Its almost one day per week for April and was glad I saved leave from last year coz din go overseas. I am left with 18 days of leave as of today, after taking all those necessary leave (like bro's wedding, my birthday, Web's birthday etc.). My honeymoon this year will use the extra 5 days of marriage leave from my company.

Wanted to take 1/2 day initially but decided to sleep awhile more but unfortunately realised my colleague was on leave too and had to wake up at 8am to run my daily sales update. By the time I was done, after struggling to login to VPN then my own PC, it was almost 9am+. I was also chatting with a colleague whom started asking me about some problems she had then we moved to small talk. She is in HK now and needed tips for shopping coz she haven't been there since 10 years ago!! Gave her some suggestions and she was glad she talked to me... HK expert!!

Decided not to go back to bed coz "no 3 no 4" so ate a bread leftover from yesterday coz was damn hungry then took a shower. Went out wanting to buy breakfast for my parents and myself then realised the yong tau hu stall was closed and the chicken rice stall not open yet. Got no choice but to buy those usual boring stuff.

B4 I could start my breakfast, saw a fairly big hornet in my room flying in circles and just refused to fly out. Got no choice but to spray lots of baygon until it slowly met its doom. Suspect it must be looking for his nest which I destroyed last nite. I was on the phone with Web last nite when I spotted a hive on my display!! Almost freaked out and quickly used lots of plastic bags and kicthen towel to wrap the hive and removed it. Lucky the hornet was not inside!

Went out ard 11am and was quite pissed off coz waited for the stupid bus 59 for almost 20 mins and still din come. By then one 231 passed by which I din take coz tot 59 is easier to change to 88 to take to Web's place. Ended up still took 231 (the 2nd one!) and changed to a slow moving bus and reached Web's place at 12pm+! I even dozed off during the journey... I am starting to have phobia taking buses now...

Rested a while at Web's place and waited for the heavy rain to stop b4 we took a cab (with his parents) to our new house and waited for the monk to come and do prayers. It was supposed to be at 3pm but we reached b4 2pm ( talk about kiasu...). It was quite warm and no place to sit at the flat so we went down to the nearby coffeeshop for a drink and snacks. Went back again and waited for almost another 1/2 hr b4 the monk finally came at 3.15pm. It was prayers etc and finally ended ard 4pm+ as we parted our ways, me and Web to Compass Point (again!) and his parents went home.

We had an early dinner coz I was already hungry b4 the praying started. After that we went to Courts again, did some measurements and left for some window shopping b4 settling down at a bench and sat till 8pm+.

Took 159 home as usual but this time I alighted at AMK mrt stn and changed a train home coz its faster and cheaper. I better not torture myself with any long bus journey again, especially that kind of timings where the road is quite congested.

Disgusted

I am very disgusted by a friend (actually I dunno if I should consider her as a friend anymore). As she was also having her new house around the same area as me, I was kind enough to offer her advice on home and furniture stuff but her response to me was like I am a kpo. Earlier when I tried to sound her out for her wedding preparations, all she told me was she got a lot of people helping her, indirectly hinting me dun need to kpo. Kns... damn pissed off... You think I so kpo to meddle with people's affairs like I got nothing better to do. As I am going through this now, and seeing her as frend b4, that's why offered my experiences and suggestions. I know how difficult it is financially to plan a wedding with additional to a new flat on the way so I supposed we should all share ideas and help each other out. But since she dun appreciate then its fine, I shall leave her alone from now on.

I felt even more disgusted was when Xris told me about what she saw from this person's profile update in her Multiply account. It reads like this: "....I welcome peeps who are sincerely with no motives to be frenz but DO NOT bother to add me if u just wana increase the numbers in your contact list OR just to add for the sake of adding OR just because we are long lost frenz but NO MORE in contact, I will reject with no mercy. =)..."

Well, tell me how you feel. I am not particularly that sensitive but I think she is hurting alot of people who knows her, or once used to be her close frens. I am not dying to ask her to add me as her contact, but I remembered her doing so earlier and after I accepted and requested to add her, the status was pending for quite some months. It din occur to me that she was housekeeping her contacts and din accept coz she thinks I might be just one of those whom she mentioned ("just because we are long lost frenz but NO MORE in contact"). Excuse me, since when was I dying to be in her contact? I really cun stand such people. Best part is, she is still reading my multiply account (blog and pictures). I shall only restrict those in my network to view my stuff from now on.

Just for some info, I stopped contacting her couple of years ago coz she was getting on everyone's nerves, borrowing money and owing us while she happily spend elsewhere. I have nothing against her coz she is a good friend but I guess when it concerns $$, we better play clear. To avoid everyone else getting annoyed with her, we stopped asking her to join out outings, which eventually reduced anyway. Of coz I still find some chance to chat with her when she is online on MSN but probably our friendship has distanced. For a while, I felt bad for being so nasty but I guess it doesn't matter anymore. She is definitely not worth.

Sometimes I wonder how come friendship cannot last between some friends. To me, once a friend forever a friend, even though we may not be in contact too often. I have never seen anyone like her, behaving like a spoilt brat whereby I have done her no wrong. I am someone who dun really put in an effort to contact everyone but when u do contact me, I will always be here, even though we may not be that close anymore. Some people are probably meant to be acquaintances only I guess.

Maybe I am being too sensitive but its not fair to make such statements as if she is one big deal or goddess whom can only choose people to befriend. I just feel disgusted by the things she wrote. Of coz she got her freedom to write whatever is in her blog, but I guess she can always be more sensitive in her words. I remembered Hui trying to add her a friend and she accepted. She then messaged her saying she looked familiar and when Hui responded, she immediately deleted her request. Oh so she thinks Hui might just add her to increase her friends' list? I din feel so affected then but did find her sort of weird and brushed it aside but now I know the real reason. Hui is NOT FIT to be her friend... @#$^*@%&*(@#

Ok enough talking of this disgusting person. I am getting more and more digusted by the second...

Disorganised...

Reached home almost ard 11pm coz took bus 159 from Sengkang and bounced all the way back to Toa Payoh Lor 8 bus stop to change bus 59 home. Good thing I din have to wait too long this time. Have given up alighting at the Lor 4 bus stop to change to the feeder bus coz it takes forever to come. The timing is just not right too, 159 usually reaches while 231 (the feeder bus) is going off from that bus stop.

Its been a long and tiring day again as we went down to our new house again. This time we were probably too tired so became quite disorganised and not alert. When Web asked me if I have the keys, I said yes and surprised why he din want to bring along his set. Upon reaching, we realised that HDB had changed all the rusty taps and turned off the main water supply. The knob at the service cabinet needs a spanner to turn we suspect, but we din even have the keys with us! Logically I have only the doors keys with me, together with my current house keys. We had to take a bus back to his house to get those keys and it was quite tiring to go to and fro.

When we were back at our unit, realised we really need a spanner to turn the knob, but we dun have any. Had to walk to the nearest Econ minimart to buy one and lucky thing they have, else we would have to go Compass Point. I din want to comment as long as everything 's settled eventually. After taking measurements of the master bedroom, kitchen and service balcony, we walked to the nearby temple then to Compass Point to take a break. I was so tired by the time we reached and quickly found a place in KFC. Shared some snacks and drinks b4 starting to do some checking on the reno requirements again.

I was then thinking whether to get aircon units (need 2) for the living room and trying to find an alternative to keep the living/ dining area cool if we dun use aircon when Web made a remark which was quite hurting. I sort of got too emotional and broke down. My usual style, I will not argue or make a scene in public but I need to let out my frustrations. He then made another remark which hurt me further but I tried to control myself. Took a while to break the ice while we proceeded to Courts to take some measurements. Along the way, he told me not to cry next time and said he knew he was wrong. I din comment further coz I know he will do it again.

Its really not easy to plan for a house and wedding at the same time. I know both of us are under alot of hidden pressure and might say things that might hurt each other and not realising it. Alot of time I rather endure whatever it comes than create an unnecessary arguement but there are times when I just cannot take some hurting remarks. At this point of time, it takes alot of effort from both parties to work things out and pull it through so we can enjoy a hassle free wedding and a nice home of our own.

Busy day!

Just finished printing some materials on our house (plan, quotes comparison etc.) as probably need to go through tomorrow after visit to our new house again. Need to make some exact measurements and take more pictures.

It had been a busy day for us and tomorrow will be similar. Dun even have much time for leisure as expected, especially after we get our keys and need to finalise an ID soon. Couple of IDs we met, made the exclamation that we are looking for an ID so late, which was a surprise to us. We did not want to rush into any b4 even viewing our flat coz we knew there will bound to be major changes. For example, we realised that the flat was not as big as we visualise from the floor plan and some parts of the flat need to be hacked (like the balcony door and study area walls). Its really no point if we find them to quote so early and will probably expect a re-quote later.

Anyway we met 3 IDs today, 1st one at Balestier where the ID was late for 1/2 hr coz she had rushed out to get some stuff. The ID was actually one of my IRC fren's wife but she dun look the friendly type. I also think that communication with her was not so smooth and she practically got no smile on her face. Should not be using her even though she's so far one of the cheaper ones. I dun trust her credibility coz heard she's one forgetful person and rather hostile kind. Took us 1 hr 45 mins for the session and both of us were quite high tide after that and had to use the washrooms from a nearby coffeeshop.

The 2nd one was at Thomson Rd, just a short walk away and the ID was late too! We had rested at the coffeeshop nearby and had some snacks and drinks and climbed up 4 storeys then realised he's not back yet. We went down since its rather warm there and sat downstairs waiting for him. I had a stomachache since morning and endured till had to release then at the coffeeshop toilet. Lucky thing the toilet was quite clean (coz not much crowd there on weekends) but too bad no toilet paper. Almost used up one pack of tissues, should have brought along a toilet roll!!

This ID was delayed at a site at Tampines and we had to wait almost 1/2 hr for him as well. It started raining quite heavily when we finally met him and lucky thing it stopped by the time we were done. Both IDs took us about 1 hr 45 mins. Have asked this 2nd one to re-quote and will meet him again when its ready coz he's somehow more trustable and knowledgeable. More or less he gave us the confidence that he will handle the project well and his pricing was quite good too.

The next stop was at Eunos and we have about an hr to get there. We took a bus to Lavender mrt stn (walking distance), went to relieve ourselves then took a bus down. The ID was also rushing back from somewhere but lucky she was not really late as we were about 20 mins early so waited at the nearby CC until she's back.

The discussion took us ard the same time as the earlier 2 and I was damn hungry by then. Web was falling asleep while the ID was trying to work out stuff to quote, measuring here and there.
She was quite detailed and told us try to save here and there but she's the only one so far who din prepare a prior quote for us so will have to meet her again.

After seeing these 5 IDs (2 earlier), we more or less will shortlist to the later 2 we met today. Their pricing and professionalism attracted us more than anything. Of coz we would prefer a guy so the Thomson Rd one stands a better chance. So far out of the 5, 3 were females IDs. Actually this Thomson Rd one was supposed to be a female designer too but she was out of town thus this sale guy attended to us. Probably I should consider venturing into this line as well... hahaha... just kidding la, I would not want to burn all my weekends as IDs usually work 7 days week... tough!!

Went for dinner at a coffeeshop near the Eunos mrt stn and strolled abit b4 taking a bus back. Web alighted halfway to change a bus home while I took to AMK mrt stn and took a train home.

Lunch with sis

Met sis for lunch just now at Prinsep St, right after a marketing code training at 11am. Actually I left midway coz I am getting so sleepy (dozed off cuple of times coz having a headache) and bored. Most of the stuff dun concern my dept too so dun wanna waste more time.

Had lunch at one of the usual lunch places my sis always go with her colleagues. Ordered "Sweet & Sour rice" as recommended by sis but disappointed that the sauce was so little and they refused to give me more. I definitely will not go there again as the food was so so only and the service not so good. Anyway sis will be leaving the temp job so probably no chance to meet her for lunch in the near future, unless she finds something near my workplace.

Having stomachache (and headache too) since morning and went loo 4 times so far. The weather was damn hot so I walked sis back to her office, went to the loo then took a cab back. Not to bad, the fare came up to only $3.20.

遗失面包记

Met sis for shopping after work and had dinner at Tangs Cafe again, and ate our favourite Indonesian Fried Rice! We then started shopping from Taka while I bought a wallet for Web using my Taka vouchers and only paid $8 (cost $58)! Its a token for him for his hard work and creativity in drawing the 3D model of our house :P

We then bought some bread from "St. Heaven" and somehow misplaced the packet along the way. Had went to Metro and tried on clothes after buying a bag from Nike shop and suspected probably left it in the 1st fitting room. Din notice when we left the room and it should be placed somewhere at the corner of the bench inside. Was feeling quite disturbed and upset when we realised the $5.85 worth of bread was gone but no choice coz Metro was closed by then and no one picked up my call. We then went to Breadtalk and bought 2 more bread for each of us and left for home.

Anyway still happy coz me and sis bought a top each at Metro, costing only $40.70 after discount. Also got the nice red bag from Nike as well as moisturiser from Laneige. Quite a fruitful shopping trip...

3D layout of our new home

Another masterpiece by Web, using a free software "Sketchup" from Google... I really am very impressed by him...

New hair colour!

Had dinner with sis at Mac after work yesterday then went to the hair salon to do our hair; me dye + highlight (red of coz) + treatment + trim and scalp treatment + trim for her. Finally I got red hair again..

Woke up middle of the night with a leg cramp, probably weather turning cold (it always happens) thus feeling quite stone and sleepy now. Managed to reach the office by 8.15am and it was drizzling. Good thing it stopped quite fast and hope wun start again during lunch.

So cute!!

Sis bought me this near her workplace.. so cute!! I can use this to stick it in my new bathroom in future... :P

Defects of our new flat

Finally submitted the defects list to HDB yesterday.

These are the pictures I took for all the defects. Lucky thing is there are no major problems like leaking, hollow tiles and cracks in the walls.

Stupid PC

Was typing this entry halfway when my PC shutdown by itself again. Its not the 1st time but still as frustrating. Suspect could be when the PC hanged, the mouse moved too briefly and probably I hit the shutdown button in the confusion. Otherwise, it cannot be explained...

Anyway was trying to say, I went out to Bugis during lunch as need to buy some guides (bus guide and street directory) from Kino. Have been wanting to get them since dunno when coz its always faster to refer than searching online for places and bus services. Its also more convenient (esp the bus guide) when there is no PC connection to check online. Of coz, that will mean I need to carry it along with me most of the time but since its small and quite light, think should be fine.

Also went around searching for a sun shade cap coz the existing ones I have are all covered type and provide no air circulation when I put on. Basically just need something to shield me from the sun to avoid having headaches and protect my face. Was standing there deciding which one to get and eventually chose the beige one amongst a pink and a pink/beige one, easier to match.

It was drizzling when I was walking out and it did rain quite heavily after that. Waited for the rain to stop (lucky din take long) and quickly rush back in case it starts again.

Our floor plan layout

Took leave again yesterday and went down to our new flat again to survey it the last time b4 going down to the HDB branch office to submit the defects form. After submission, we went for lunch at the nearby Kopitiam and headed to Compass Point (again! second time this week). We then settled at Mac for a drink and brought out my laptop. Web then used "Paint" to draw up the design on our soft copy floor plan. I just added wordings and colours to it... see our masterpiece...

1st opening of our new house!

Finally made our 1st official opening of our new flat last Sat. Woke up at 6am and had to rush out by 6.45am, then took bus no. 231 to change to bus no. 159 and met Web near his home as he boarded the bus. Was feeling quite hungry so we bought something to eat b4 heading to our flat to prepare for the opening at 8am.

Started off to open all the windows and balconies doors to allow fresh air to seap in 1st then proceeded to place our offering of fruits in the middle of the living room b4 checking out the whole unit.

It was then checking for defects for the whole unit. We need to report all defects within 7 days from collection of keys so cun wait till next week, when we had intended to invite a monk to bless the flat. Lucky thing for 1st opening, we need only follow a general auspicious date and time.

After about 4 hrs of checking all items (including keys) and taking down notes, we finally left and lastly opened our letterbox and shocked to find that its damn packed with letters. brochures, magazines and even SCV cables inside. Put them all in the bag to check later. We then proceeded for lunch ard 12 noon at the nearby coffeeshop and took a bus back to Web's house to cool down and who knows, his parents wanted to go take a look so we set off again...

After about 1 hr inside the house, doing some last minute checking, we left as it started to rain heavily. Took a break downstairs b4 leaving to take bus (us to nearby Compass Point and his parents home) as the path out was more or less sheltered.

Check out our flat pictures here

We then had some drinks at Compass Point, shopped ard and wanted to take dinner but the food court was damn crowded. We thus continued shopping ard and check out shops like Seahorse (mattresses), Courts (furnitures) and Gain City (aircons). Headed back to the food court again, still as crowded but managed to get a table after making a few rounds.

Places hopping

Went to IMM to meet up with our 2nd ID firm (Interior Designer - Spacious). The quote was ok after deducting all those stuff we dun need but still need to KIV till we see all 5 IDs (3 more to go).

We then walked over to check out the furniture showroom opposite again but this time felt quite pressurized coz a salesman was following us throughout. The sofa sets were too over our budget so might just get a coffee table, TV rack and side tables there. So far this showroom has better quality furnitures compared to Courts and Brighton. We haven't really check out showrooms like Novena and Nova.

It was going to rain thus we took a direct bus to Thomson Plaza since we have both not been there for a long, long time. The place changed quite alot, especially the area where the old Yaohan used to be. The rest of the shops outside were of not much difference though. Saw some shops selling nice dresses so probably will drop by again with sis soon, to get something for bro's wedding.

It was then back to Ang Mo Kio again as we have nowhere else to go. Went to AMK Hub and hanged around until we have our late dinner at KFC (everywhere else was so packed and we weren't quite hungry earlier).

Its Friday!

Watched VCDs (MVP 情人) until almost 1am and finished about 4 discs last nite. The show is getting more interesting but cun continue coz need to zzz as its not weekend...

Changed bag this morning coz need to cater to put more stuff (like folder with all the reno stuff and my breakfast etc) and forgot to pack my staff pass in. It was only when I was out halfway and vaguely rememeber I did not put it in. Should be still on my bed, dunno why missed it...

Supposed to meet up one ID (Interior Design) consultant this evening at IMM but going to postpone to Sunday instead. Then another appointment on Sunday will be pushed to next Friday. We will still need to arrange 2 more, maybe tonite or next Wed/ Thur. Web had bought some "fa gao" and dunno what kwey in the morning for the opening of new flat tomorrow (need to check for defects and report within 7 days) so need to bring the stuff home to keep 1st b4 meeting me and will not want to go so far by then.

I am taking half day leave this afternoon and meet up with sis as she's also taking time-off. She finally resigned yesterday but effective date is 2 weeks from next Monday. Will bring her nearby my workplace for lunch 1st, then proceed to Arab Street to buy her beads stuff. Maybe some shopping later b4 I meet Web in the evening, probably in AMK.

Its gonna be another bz season for us from now, coz need to meet up with a few IDs b4 we make a decision by end of the month. Hopefully other stuff (like reno design, tiles etc) can be confirmed and start work by mid May or latest early June. It usually takes 4-6 weeks for the whole project to complete then we will need to being in all the necessary furnitures and electrical appliances and be ready to move in after our customary in end Sep.

Its food... food... food

It was a busy day, trying to clear some stuff (pending and new) after a day's leave.

Had lunch with colleagues at Lei Garden - to celebrate for one birthday gal and absence of boss (went for a 2-days course). The spread was sumptous and few of us fell so sleepy in the office after that although we were not damn full. Its probably too much carbo and stuff that makes us sleepy... Lucky thing 2 of them drove coz it was already raining quite heavily halfway thru the meal.

Met up with sis after work at Bishan Junction 8 for dinner. Had a sumptous meal at Thai Express, including my favourite Tom Yum soup! Cun help to think that Thai food still taste quite good that any other Asian or Western food. Its been quite a while since we last ate Thai food and simply love it!

We then shopped abit coz nothing much there. Realised Seiyu changed name to BHG and thought it sounded quite weird. The last stop was NTUC as usual and bought alot of junk foods (instant noodles, titbits etc) again... hahaha

Its time for my VCDs now...

Got our keys!!

Finally got our keys today... a total of 27 keys (3 for each door/ lock)!!

Met Web at ard 10.30am even though our appointment at HDB is 1.10pm. We went to the OCBC bank 1st to open a joint account then proceeded for brunch at Koufu. We then went to HDB to buy fire insurance 1st b4 going to take a queue no. for our appointment. We were already waiting there at 12.10pm, almost one hr early. Good thing we din have to wait that long coz we were called in ard 1pm and after all the procedures and signing of the flat documents (alot alot of pages, we were almost like idols giving out autographs!), we left abt 40 mins later and proceeded to the Singapore Power counter to sign up for the water and electricity (plus sewage, refuse etc) services.

We then went to the 3rd storey showroom for different categories of flats (2, 3, 4 and 5-rooms) and left for the nearby furniture showroom at Lor 5. Got sis to check the address and location for me as I forgot to bring it out. Disappointed that the furnitures there were not cheap at all, and the worksmanship seemed not too good too. We then left and walked to the library to take a break as we were both tired and felt quite warm under the hot sun.

Had snacks at KFC b4 going to Courts to check out their furnitures on offer. The sofa we were looking at went from $1400+ to now sales at $833!! We were still hesitating coz not sure of our house design yet (if colour can match) thus will probably make up our minds by end of the month as the promo is till 10 May 07.

We had initially checked that we could only open the doors to our new flat on 24 Apr 07 but we need to check for any defects within 7 days from today thus cannot wait till then. Luckily after checking, realised that we can actually go in anytime (just find a general auspicious date) and will get a shifu (temple monk) to perform opening ceremony rituals on 24 Apr 07. We are trying to see if this weekend works else will need to take leave again tomorrow (coz its a good date) again.

FINALLY settled my ROM dress

Was so tired the whole morning. Felt so stone when I woke up and zombied all the way to office. Was abit late and the mrt trains were damn packed, had to wait till the 3rd one then managed to squeeze in. Upon reaching Bugis, the queue for the shutter bus was damn long too and I had to wait for the second one, which luckily came shortly.

Was quite bz in the morning and only had breakfast ard 10am. After that stoned and worked till lunch time, and managed to catch a short nap (not sure how long, probably 20 mins+) and felt so much better after that! Had my lunch - bread with jam as I bought the loaf for the week this morning. Wasn't too bz in the afternoon and surfed abit and waited to time to pass...

Went down alone (Web was bz working and sis got lessons tonite) to my BS again after work to check out the materials (for suitable and nice colours) the designer got for my ROM dress. I was so blur (like in a daze) that I alighted at Raffles Place wanted to change train then realised no need so had to wait for the next one. Anyway I couldn't get my ideal colours (red and yellow) as she said wun be that nice so took quite a while to flip thru' all the cloth samples b4 we finally decided to try some evening gowns to brainstorm ideas.

Tried on about 3-4 gowns, not all can fit but just try the colours on me. Finally decided on a fuchsia pink (or deeppink) as it looks nice on me. The designer said not many people can take striking colours but it seemed to suit me... dunno true or not... Actually should have tried long ago instead of just looking at cloth samples, then would not have wasted so much time (coz of the colours she proposed I dun like).

So finally settled the colour I wanted and she will need to have it tailored asap as I only have about 2 mths left to my ROM date. Also made the payment for the dress as its confirmed. I have one less thing to worry about now.

Left to take train home and surprisingly the train wasn't that crowded at that time. I was damn hungry by then and luckily dinner was ready by the time I reached home.

New flat surveying again

Took bus 72 and waited for Web to board the bus near his house to Tampines. He once again pissed me off coz he commented I wore the tee he hated most. I dunno what's his problem and had to make such a remark. I told him I liked this tee the most and refused to talk to him after that. There was silence all the way to until we alighted near the temple and walked to where the Giant/ Courts/ Ikea megamarts are at, although he tried to cheer me up.

Dunno why I get so agitated with him but just cun helped it. Maybe its that time of the month and hormones changes affected my mood ALOT. Anyway, I am just to lazy to have an arguement (which will also strain the relationship) so that's why I have to suffer in silence most of the time.

We shopped at Giant 1st while b4 heading to Courts. The sofa sets we were eyeing were on a sale, about $400++ less than what we last saw. Was tempted to buy but since the promo is until 10 May 07, will check out other furniture stores 1st in case or cheaper or better ones.

Had our usual hotdogs buns and chicken wings at Ikea b4 starting our shopping. Helped sis to buy 2 sets of hanging pockets and carried the big packet walking everywhere. We then took a shutter bus from Courts to Punggol mrt stn. Not many people took this direction and there were just 3 of us on the bus. The rest usually goes back to Tampines or Bedok mrt stn.

We arrived at the Punggol mrt stn and realised its damn ulu and quiet there. Seemed almost like a deserted area and we were glad we din choose a flat from there. Took a bus there to Sengkang where our new flat will be at. Surveyed the area again and had a closer look at where our flat is at. After that we checked out the surrounding and finally found the coffee shop, as well as a clinic and econ minimart there. Its quite convenient as the LRT stn is just behside too. Bus service no. 163 also stops there, which can be taken from Toa Payoh or from Braddell Road (just 5 mins from my house now).

Had dinner at the coffee shop b4 walking back to our new flat area and surveyed from the ground floor. We were glad we chose the right place as it was damn windy there and everything is just quite perfect there. We then walked further down to find the temples and sat outside awhile seeing them chanting b4 walking back to Compass Point at Sengkang mrt stn.

It had been almost 1.5 months since we were there and its tired as the previous time when we surveyed the area and flat to decide which one to take. We drank quite alot of water and as good as exercising like yesterday (even though din really cycle much due to the rain). Finally reached home taking bus service no. 159. Waited 15mins+ for the stupid feeder bus coz it always came earlier than 159 reached so had to wait for the next one. By the time I boarded, the next 159 came, as usual later than the feeder bus.

Drenched and pissed off!

Went East Coast for cycling and we were happily half way through when it started to rain. We stopped by at the shelter when its started drizzling and the rain got heavier but stopped awhile later. We cycled on but reached a point when it was raining again. As we were halfway through, I had wanted to turn back and head towards the National Sailing Club for shelter but Web insisted we cycled ahead as there was a shelter there, although it was looking quite bad ahead.

True enough, it rained very heavily as we were almost all wet. I almost wanted to turn back but Web was already ahead of me so cycled on. I was actually quite pissed off and dun understand why he refused to turn back and had me drenched for nothing. Sometimes really dunno how a guy thinks. By the time we reached the shelter, I was feeling both pissed off and damn uncomfortable and grumbled that I did not bring extra clothing and why he must insist on going ahead. Not only were my tee wet, my bermudas were wet and damn dirty from the dirt. My sandals (birkenstock somemore!) were also wet and dirty, I just felt so %^&%#@*@%. The rain took quite a while this time to stop and this time I said we better head back when it sort of dropped to drizzling.

Luckily along the way, it din really downpour again and we returned the bicycles a few minutes early. Went to Mac's toilet to wash up abit and finally felt abit better after washing my face, feet and shoes. I refused to talk while walking back to Parkway Parade (PP) coz was just feeling so damn uncomfortable and pissed off with my tee stinks from the sweat and rain and my sandals wet.

It was until we reached PP that I finally bought another tee from OP to change that my mood gets better. By that time, my sandals had more or less dried up and I felt better. I am really not used to being wet and dirty so I cun help it. I hate it when I perspire too much, get drenched or dirty from any kind of stuff. I hope he learnt his lesson this time and better take better care of me in future. Else next time I wun be bothered with him if he chose to get wet or dirty, I will just go find my own shelter.

What a coincidence!

Met early as we need to go to the temples at Brighthill Road. Done some praying b4 visiting Web's maternal grandparents' tablets and urns. There were quite a lot of people still although the actual Ching Ming festival was yesterday.

We then took a direct bus (no. 52) to Jurong East. The bus stopped behind IMM and quite convenient. We saw a furniture showroom just opposite and decided to take a look b4 going to IMM. The furnitures there were actually nicer than what Courts has and of better quality, which some may cost abit more, otherwise prices are quite reasonable. Will still check out other places 1st b4 ordering the main furnitures as we are still early. But will still try to buy b4 July, to avoid the GST increase :P

Started going to 2 Interior Designer firms in IMM after getting some drinks (really hot day!). The 1st one we went to, the guy was sort of too lor soh and emphasized too much on himself (like how he quote, do his work and planning etc.). He did not even ask us what we wanted or have in mind and starting rattling non-stop and even wanted us to commit. We said we will discuss and consider b4 giving him a call.

We then went to the 2nd one and was served by a lady. She was quite nice and her approach was different as she had to find out what kind of work we need on the house, our budget and preference etc. b4 she can quote for us. As she will need some time to work out, we made an appointment to go down again next Friday to discuss more.

Feeling quite hungry, decided to drop by Kopitiam for dinner and guess what, saw my parents in the distance!! I was telling Web earlier that mum mentioned they might got IMM but not confirmed, depending on whether my dad tired or not. I quickly ran towards them and they were surprised to see me. They were also planning to have dinner there so we ate together b4 parting our ways. They had intended to go to the 3rd floor food court (Bagus) but the lift somehow only stopped on the 2nd floor so they decided to go Kopitiam instead. What a coincidence!!

We walked abit and realised nothing much to shop so walked back to the Jurong East Central and settled down at the Ice Skating rink again b4 heading home by mrt.

Met 1st ID

Not really in the mood to blog but still need to capture my memories here in case I forgot...

As it's Good Friday tomorrow, it felt like Friday today. Met Web near his workplace (Boat Quay area) and took dinner at the Kopitiam at the Central. Had a little misunderstanding as I walked to near his building and waited for him but he came from the other direction so both of us waited for quite a while. When I tried to call him, my phone gone bonkers again so when I finally got thru, he was abit pissed off. Anyway next time I will just stay put at wherever we are supposed to meet tp avoid any misunderstandings. Cun help it coz he's such an impatient person. Guys are like that... once you change place or what, they get irritated... just dun understand.

Din know there's actually a food court there else would have brought sis to eat there the other day. We had thought nothing much to eat there and took a bus away from there, not realising there was another wing inside (prob coz of all the blocking).

We then took a bus to River Valley as we need to go to my fren's company (interior design - ID firm) to take a look at the quotation and sketch he prepared for our new home. We took quite a while to find that ulu place as it was on the second floor of those old short buildings. The staircase din even have lights on when we left! My fren sort of ran through what he proposed for us. We will probably get him to change some things and go through some other quotes and design b4 making a decision who to engage. Now waiting for 2 more quotes from my frens 1st.

It was then off to Orchard while we spent the rest of the evening at the Shaw Centre Mac.

Hot day!!

You know what is damn hot??!!! Just go outside and walk 10 mins you will know what I am talking about. Went off to meet sis for lunch at Sunshine Plaza, somewhere near her workplace and me reachable by some walking and bus. Walked to take bus 56 there and then take 980 back to office.

We had lunch at the Wanton Mee shop and only managed to walk around abit as sis will need to get back to office. Her lunch break is actually just 45 mins!! So neow also got... But when she got back to her office, all her colleagues not back!! Next time dun have to be so rush liao...

I then walked to Fortune Centre and bought a rainbow agar-agar then since nothing to shop there even though its still early, went to take a bus back. The stupid aircon bus practically got no aircon and I was feeling so warm inside. When I alighted, the wind was so strong even though its scorching hot. My hair was damn messy and felt so uncomfortably hot when I stepped into the office building.

Just managed to settle down and realised the muffins (chocolate ones) I bought just now melted!! Ok not the whole thing la, but the chocolate pieces on top...

Headache day again...

Went Chinatown with sis last evening after work. She needs to buy some beads and was there after she knock off at 5pm while I took a bus down from office to meet her there. Waited for the bus for almost 15 mins and after I alighted, saw another bus behind... Is this what we get from fare increase? Hai...

We managed to buy some nice potato crackers from Yue Hwa, then walked down to the new Central. Nothing much there so we took a bus to Novena Square and had our dinner at Hans. While at the bus stop, I was still telling sis the platform was so high for people to step down so we made a longer walk to reach the bus stop pavement. Just minutes later, a gal came down from the platform and fell face down onto the pavement. I was too shocked to react coz thinking if I had gone down the platform like her, would I be the one falling face down... scary!! Although her fren was just beside, seemed that she got a shock too coz she waited for the gal who fell to stand up herself. Its definitely bad construction for a bus stop as not only the platform is too high, the pavement is sloping down as well. This explains why the gal who fell cannot control herself and fell face down, in slow motion somemore.

We took bus 124 and alighted one stop late coz thought it would not be so far It stopped somewhere beside TTSH and we had to walk quite a distance cutting through the road to TTSH and Novena Square. Haven't eat at Hans for ages and surprising the food turned out quite nice still. The lady who took my order was abit confused though but we got no other complaints.

Walked around the new Square 2 just behind Novena Square, a new extension linking to the new medical hub as well. Not all shops are opened yet but still quite a hanand they sort of adapt a Korean theme there. There were quite a no. of shoes shops there and some nice food outlets. Bought a VCD set from TS - "MVP Qing Ren". Although its a really old Taiwan series but had been wanting to watch it but ahd difficulty finding it initially and most of my colleagues do not have it even though I wanted to borrow. There was rental for the VCD at $11 for 18 days but only cost $25.50 to buy it so bought a set. Its an original taiwan set thus quite worth the price. Saw one DVD set at Poh Khim but its a china version and selling at $29.90! Dun quite wanna support China version so din buy it. Remembered I saw another china set sometime ago at $19.90 but cun recall where. Din buy at that time coz was still trying to see if anyone has it, more worth to borrow. So anyway since I bought already, anyone interested can borrow from me after I finish...

Went to sleep early last nite but cun really get to sleep. Maybe its too early than my usual sleeping time... Woke up with a headache again this morning and feeling so sleepy now. Wanted to stay home and rest but got a stupid meeting this afternoon and I am expected to be present even though it has nothing much to do with me. Might consider taking mc tomorrow if my headache persists...

So full...

So full now... Bought lunch (Tori-Q) from Bugis Junction just now, after rushing to drop off my contest entry forms at the CapitaLand customer service and Adidas + Nike in search of a nice cap I saw at Robinsons Raffles City the other day. They only have size M and L and too big for me. Din think of asking if they have S size coz anticipate a reply like "its all on display". I have since searched through several Adidas shops but cun find. Then I start to wonder could it be Nike instead... *many lines*. Couldn't find at the Nike dealer at Bugis as well so will probably check again at other branches or have to go back to Robinsons.

It was going to rain abt 11.20am++ but the sky seemed ok by 12pm+. Waited a while and confirmed its safe for the time being, quickly rushed out. It was then damn hot on my way back and my headache is getting worse.

Managed to catch a nap after dinner followed by 2 headache pills. Sort of over-napped and work up blur blur ard 10.30pm. Surfed a while and chatted with Angeline online b4 hitting the bed again. Luckily dun have much problem falling asleep...

Its Monday again...

I seem to like a walking zombie, still in a half awake mode. Din really go off to bed that that, normal ard 12am+ but was especially tired 2day. Not enough sleep it seems and I am having slight headache. Took a cab to office coz cannot imagine myself walking and squeezing through many other zombies.

Quite a tiring weekend as we went off to pray early in the morning (meaning I have to wake up early too) on Sunday. Walked to the temple as usual but lucky not too warm like usual coz its still early and drizzling. We were the 1st to arrive as usual and the rest came shortly after. Hanged around while the seniors did the usuals and we only stood ard to pray when required. Its sort of catching up time with cousins too, although some others were not present, as always.

It took almost 2 hrs to complete the whole process as we walked back home again. Chatted with cousin awhile b4 heading for the showers as need to meet Web (and supposingly the photographer) at 2pm.

Saturday
Web worked till almost 6.30am then reached home ard 7.30am. Poor thing had to work till so "early" and couldn't sleep at all during daytime. He napped for only 1hr+ and woke up stoning. Met him in AMK coz he din want to go far and we shopped around at AMK Hub again b4 heading to the library. Had dinner at A* and watched the live EPL match (Liverpool Vs Arsenal) there. Liverpool won surprising by 3 goals (total score was 4-1) as we left for MOS Burger for a drink and some UNO card game again b4 heading home.

Cheap dun mean good..

Supposed to meet a photographer whom I found thru the forum but last minute I cancelled the appointment, even though we were all halfway there. Main reason was coz we are supposed to meet for him to show us his portfolio in hard copies but when I messaged him b4 I went out, in case he forgets again, he said that hard copies are not ready. In this case, I find it meangingless and a waste of time to meet up coz we got nothing to see.

Actually this photographer charges quite cheap when I contacted him earlier in the week. He 's charging only $600 inclusive of 300 4R prints, unlimited shots returned in DVD and even wanted to throw in a pre-wedding shoot for me. However, I had requested to view his online portfolio but he said he only has hard copies, which was why we arranged to meet today. Along the way, he sms me and showed me his fren's website, and said if I like this style, I will like his. Subsequently, he sms me again saying he loaded some pictures temporary and asked me to take a look. Although I find his photos ok, but would prefer to see more of his work, since he acclaimed that he had took 5 couples so far. When I asked him how many years of experience he has, he only replied saying he did portrait photography b4 and just started out taking wedding pictures this year. Already felt abit not so comfortable coz scared that he may not have enough exposure to date and started to question his reliability.

When he replied me saying his hard copies are delayed by the printers, I sort of got quite fed up and find this person not so trustworthy. Although I mentioned we will arrange to meet after he got more online portfolio or when his hard copies are ready, but I dun think will want him as my photographer. Now I am starting to wonder if those pictures he showed me were actually his or not.

Worse was he kept sms he after giving me his websites and asked if I like them or not. I told him we will meet and discuss and he still ask when. I told him we already arranged on Sun then he said he forgot. How can I trust such person, I am like taking a risk whether he will remember to come on my AD if I confirmed with him. I just feel that he is damn desperate for business and makes me wonder more about how he can charge so cheap.

Guess I will still stick to the earlier guy who quoted $530 with unlimited shots in DVD. Peggy will be meeting him too as she mentioned she liked his style, which I find it better than some of those professionals too. Maybe is the style that we found it comfortable. He's also a friendly guy except a bit shy at our last meet-up. Since brother is not in town, will be going with Peggy to meet him just nearby our blocks, proposed at the KFC opposite coz he's actually just stayinf around there too!
