Cannot remember when was the last time I talked to myself (blogging I mean)... but I guess not important... No inspiration or mood = no blog :P
Anyway yesterday was my grandpa's 6th death anniversary (time really flies!), on Vesak Day. My dad jokingly said grandpa wanted us to remember him so he chose such a day. Sis said earlier that he chose such a day so everyone got no excuse saying cannot take leave *_*, which is quite true too. Whatever it is, everyone still gathered together at grandma's place from 11am. I took a cab from home myself coz the weather is so damn hot and since Web was working at home.
We started praying ard 12pm although not everyone arrived yet. Seemed like there's only 70% attendance this year. We were missing 7 cousins this year - some studying for exams, some overseas, some dunno why MIA... Suddenly the house was abit quieter than usual...
After a while, we went down to burn the paper stuff - money, certs, clothes etc. for my grandpa. We were always wondering where these stuff would go to, if grandpa would actually receive them. End of the day, its just some actions from the living to make themselves feel better. In time to come, I think not much young people would practice these traditions when the older folks leave us.
It was then lunch and some chit chatting before we felt the heat was too much for us, so me and sis went back to our place and turned on the aircon to cool ourselves. Bro and Peggy joined us later and we had a good chat until almost 4pm when we decided to pay my late aunt a visit.
I had wanted to visit her since like Jan but I dunno where is it, it was delayed till now. She passed away just 2 months b4 my marriage thus could not attend her wake or funeral, and it will always be a regret for me. Our whole family paid our respects to her, as well as my uncle who is placed opposite her in a church memorial hall at Poh Huat Rd, somewhere near Hougang Ave 2.
I was actually surprised the whole place was so beautifully decorated with all kinds of flowers, ornaments, toys etc. We went to the provision shop opposite and bought some flowers too, for my uncle and aunt. We even had an ice cream each, treat from dad! We left shortly after as the weather was damn hot and unbearable.
Bro drove me home and I had to be really soft as Web was sleeping on the sofa. He din even realise I was home when he woke up much later when I was in the study room. He continued his nap later in the study room with me surfing, enjoying aircon until dinner time. A long weekend just passed so swiftly...
