Wow its last day of the month already and I just realised from my statistics that I blogged the least this month, other than Feb 2006 when I started my blog mid month. Been so busy watching so many taiwan serials and catching up on my sleep until I lost all my inspirations...

Been walking around since after lunch ard 2.30pm+. First started off with a colleague having problem dialling into a VTC (video conferencing) call and had to shift them down to another room after testing out and then re-organise the people who booked the rooms to swop venues. It was then back to the faulty VTC to help troubleshoot the problem with my colleagues. Just stepped back to my desk and was invited over for hot chocolate from my colleague on another floor. Minutes after I came back, was called into boss' room again as she was on a discussion with a colleague on her queries. I wonder who's the boss anyway...

Then I realised its almost 5pm when I was talking to Xris on msn. She was complaining she's been eating alot of rice recently, after she changed job. She mentioned coz there's only limited stores at the foodcourt around her area. Later realised that she is just fussy, not that there is really nothing much to eat. Some people are really too pampered... In her ex-office, they have good food just nearby and they always drive out to different places to eat. Sometimes we became too reliant on comfort and good food (variety) and tend to despise not so glamourous (with restricted choices) eating places.

Even the canteen (or mini food court) downstairs has only 4 stalls, and out of which 3 stalls I dun patronise and I am ok with it. The only stall I would patronise is the mixed rice stall and basically I have no complaints coz I love rice. Xris hates rice... so that explains her woes. Anyway its just a meal, no big deal. Main thing is to just fill the hunger. We can always choose nicer food during breakfast/ dinner or on weekends. Must 吃得苦中苦, 方为人上人 mah!

How...

Life is so unpredictable... I have been feeling so shaken by the taiwan actress death even until now. Though I may not be a fan of hers, but seeing a young life taken away so suddenly really makes me feel so sad and helpless. Imagine the driver is scarcely hurt by only minor injuries and the passenger cannot make it. Anyway what is done is done, hope she will rest in peace...

Couldn't really get to sleep last night after a nap earlier ard 9pm+. My system just auto shutdown after watching some TV in sis' room so went back to my room and continue on. Woke up startled almost to 11pm and went online. Chatted with Xris awhile b4 she got too engrossed in the taiwan serial while I logged off to hit the bed.

Was talking to Xris about her changing some of her facial products from MTM to Laneige recently. Me and sis had been thinking whether to change coz MTM is really getting too expensive to maintain. Also still brainstorming for any alternative products which will cost us lesser so we could possibly save some for our tour this year. Been wanting to plan to go Taiwan/ Hong Kong this year and hope can fulfil. Will probably find time to check out the products soon as I am running out of products soon...

Its Monday... tired...

Wow its been days since I last blogged. Ya been bz watching VCD (恶作剧之吻) and trying to finish asap coz its getting so exciting. Finally watched the last episode on Saturday night and its time for a break. Xris is also bz catching up on the serial on youtube, b4 I pass her the VCDs on Thursday.

Woke up feeling abit headache (not enuf sleep type) but went to work nevertheless. Towards 9am+, I was feeling so unwell as the headache became worse. Still had a meeting at 11am so tahan until that then went off to come home and sleep. Din take lunch and slept until almost 4pm+ then woke up feeling high tide and hungry. Headache finally subsided abit and got better after dinner (with nice home cooked food!).

It was then surfing time and watched a bit of TV b4 having my shower, mask and now blogging. Going to watch my other taiwan serial (轉角＊遇到愛) soon as they are still loading. Just realised that this serial is shown in Taiwan once a week, no wonder took so long for updates in youtube. Just have to wait patiently for the next 12 episodes (total 16, now at 4th).

Was still reading entertainment news on Sunday morning about a taiwan actress whom met an accident on Friday night. Who knows when I reached home on Sunday night, sis sms saying she died. So sad coz she's only 28 this year and couldn't survive the hard crash. It was reported that she was already in a very bad condition when she was sent to the hospital, with swelling of the brain, enlargement of her eyeballs and no reaction to light source, as well as bleeding of internal organs. Alot of blood was transfused but she still did not manage to recover. I haven seen any of her serials but seen her b4 in some variety shows. Its such a pity as she was quite pretty and talented. Life is so unpredictable, we should treasure our lives and be happy so we wun have any regrets when we leave this world.

Friday
Had wanted to go Scotts food court for dinner but upon reaching there, realised that the building has been closed and there were already renovation works going on. Haven read anything about the closure so we were quite taken aback. Headed to the food court at Lucky Plaza instead and shared fishball noodles and chicken bolognise spagetti (both very nice!). Its window shopping again at Paragon then Taka b4 calling it a day.

Saturday
Met Web quite early at 12pm+ after he's done praying for his late grandpa at the temple near Toa Payoh Lor 8. Went GWC wanted to watch a movie but no suitable showtime so ate lunch at the nearby hawker centre then took bus from Orchard to Jurong East. It was drizzling since I went out and din stop until we reached Jurong. Had intended to go IMM but hanged around the central area instead. Stayed at the Fuji Ice Palace for almost 1hr plus watching people skating and left towards dinner time. Had KFC coz haven eaten for months and walked around the central area (NTUC etc) b4 taking a train back.

Sunday
Skipped swimming and went KTV with Web coz weather not too good and quite cold. It was off to A* again for dinner as we missed the toast bread there. Walked around in AMK hub again before heading home.

Its finally Friday! The week seems especially long... dunno why...

Quite bz at work these days with meetings and discussions, plus other misc stuff and of coz my taiwan serials. Din really watch in office coz loading is damn slow and the "search" function in youtube has just been blocked yesterday so bo bian.

Been watching the VCDs my colleague passed me since 2 days ago. Watched about 8 discs yesterday and the show was so touching that I cried and cried... jialat. Now got 6 more to go and its getting more and more exciting. Its quite funny too but still lesser than touching scenes. The other show I stopped at episode 3 is still pending for people to upload into youtube 1st. Dunno why it just stopped there...

Starting to feel sleepy now, after eating 6 tang yuan during lunch. Asked my colleague to buy 4 dunno why he bought 6... lucky din eat much for lunch...

My new shoes!

Managed to leave on time after work even though had a last min discussion near to 5pm with my boss and colleague. Maybe I kept looking at my watch so she got my hint not to be too lor soh and faster get to the point... hahhaha... Took bus 980 from my office bus stop all the way to United Square's bus stop. Managed to walk abit there before heading to Novena Square to meet sis who was on the way. While waiting for her, saw Hui coming my way and quite surprised to see her there. Realised that she's on the way visiting her grandma at TTSH.

We had dinner at Ichiban Boshi and were damn full so started walking around at Novena Square. din go anywhere else as sis was too tired after a day of walking around at work (trying to co-ordinate for the Open House at NYP). Saw that URS was having a sale of up to 50% so popped in to take a look. There were actually many new designs and the sale was quite good. I then spotted a nice pair of covered shoes and love them so much not to buy them. As its a new item, so no discount and paid $39.90 for them.



After more walking around, we settled down at TCC for a drink and had 2 slices of cheesecakes. Surprised that they actually tasted quite nice and soft. Left for home soon after as sis was falling asleep...

Catching up...

Wow its mid week already... finally. Ever since the festive season, time has been really slow as its a brand new year now with 5 full working days per week. Haven't start taking any mc or leave as yet coz want to save as much as possible until really needing it. Sis was still asking me taking leave to accompany her when she officially end her contract next Wed. Told her I can take only 1/2 day on Thur (1 Feb) coz its gonna be month end closing and my stupid boss definitely will not approve me taking full day. Now thinking of it, also arranged ktv with Hui and Xris on that evening so maybe have to reschedule my leave else shop half day not shiok.

Slept at 11pm+ last night after watching 3 episodes of a new taiwan serial "恶作剧之吻". Xris has told me she's also watching couple of nights ago too. Actually my colleague wanted to lend me this serial quite some time ago but as this was not my priority, I did not get from her. I ran out of entertainment that's why started watching it last night. Found it quite boring in the beginning but starting to get quite funny and interesting towards the 2nd and 3rd episodes. I had also messaged to colleague to pass the vcd to me now!

In fact started another taiwan serial (轉角*遇到愛) before this one but as its yet another show still showing on live tv, it takes quite a while for people to load on youtube daily so gotta wait patiently. This show attracted me coz its starring 大Ｓ& 罗志祥 and had quite a funny plot too. Suddenly realised Big Ｓ and her sister (小Ｓ）really looked alike after a close look, but seems like her sis is prettier... (maybe coz more makeup etc as she is a host, where Big S prefers acting).

Was actually pretty busy these days so not much time to blog in office. Busy is also better coz time flies faster. There were also umpteen meetings since beginning of this year and more to come. Good thing I managed to control my mindset so wun suffer too much from no mood or holiday mood.

Took a cab to office today coz feeling quite tired and that stupid ah neh driver went all the way to CTE even though I told him go by Balestier Road then Lavender Road. He was already halfway so I din want to comment or spoil my mood early in the morning. Worse was there was ERP on the CTE and it cost me $1.50! If I had known, rather ask him take Bendemeer then Kallang where I only will incur $0.50. Going by the normal route (Balestier the Lavender or Thomson then Kampong Java), there was no ERP and definitely faster and cheaper! Looks like I will have to specify properly next time to stupid drivers not to pass by any ERP and go by the shortest and no jam route! The fare came up to $10.20 today, about $0.50 to $0.70 more than usual. Arrgggh!!

Good morning!

Woke up especially early this morning, dunno why... Maybe its due to the exercise yesterday... Managed to do another 20 sit-ups after watching half episode of the taiwan serial (never ending and took so long...) yesterday before going to bed.

Got time to play neopets somemore and won again!

Exercise day

Feeling quite tired and aching now...

Went swimming after playing pool and managed to swim 10 laps. Weather wasn't good as it rained for a while at our 4th lap. Came out to rest a while and shifted our bags in case the rain gets bigger. Good thing it stopped as we saw the piece of dark cloud flew past. Finished the balance 6 laps and hanged around at one corner of the pool before going shower.

Had dinner at the hawker centre while we try to order less food (less oily too) as would not want to waste the exercise.

It was then off to walk abit at the central and AMK Hub before heading home...

Just ate one orange complete with 20 sit-ups and feeling so warm all over. Got abit of headache too, probably coz not enough sleep and weather too hot in the afternoon.

Won again!

It was again another rainy day. Just heard from the radio that it will rain in some areas and within 30 mins, while I was preparing to go out, thunderstorm came. Had to wait till the rain stopped, then finally took bus 59 to change to bus 159 to Sengkang. Web boarded near his bus stop and it only took us anbother 3-4 bus stops before we reached our destination.

We had gone to view 2 showflats in Sengkang East Road area. Went to this block 1st, which was quite far in and just opposite a school. The showflat was quite cramp compared to viewing from the online showflat pictures. Dun like the place at all as its just too near a school (can you imagine the noise daily and on Sats). Walked to the other showflat opposite where we alighted and it was indeed better. The living room is much bigger and probably the design made it looked nicer too.

Walked to Compass Point just 8-10 minutes away, and its where the Sengkang Bus interchange and mrt stn is. The place was surprising quite big and has lots of varieties of shops. We had our early dinner at Kopitiam as I was feeling quite hungry after all the walking around. It was drizzling when we were walking there and after that, it was like a thunderstorm again as we left after a lion dance show to take mrt down to town. Barely walked around PS as we left for Singapore Pools to check out the odds for the Liverpool match tonite. In the end, we bought 2-0 for Liverpool's match vs Chelsea and TOTO, hopefully can strike!

The Palong Bar at Hotel Rendezvous was surprising quite crowded today as we couldn't get our usual seats near the TV. The place was like a marketplace even before the match started. We had bought 2-0 with winning odds of payout $140 (including the $10 we invested). Surprisingly Liverpool scored 2 goals by the 18th minute (4th minute by Kuyt and 18th minute by Pennant) and we really stressed until the match ended 2-0! Its another win ($65 each) for us since the last one we bought on 2nd Jan (won $50 each). Really excited man!

Anyway more or less decided that we wun rush to get this range of Exec flat as its quite expensive. Will probably wait for new flats release and meanwhile look out for resale flats in more ideal locations. Really not easy finding a flat coz of financial committment too. We do not want to be tied down too much by housing loan as jobs are so insecured these days. Just hope can find something which we are able to pay off in full (or least abit more) using our CPF savings.

Its back to Marina Square again!

Left office much later (about 5.40pm) than usual as was stuck in a meeting with boss and colleague since 3.45pm! Walked quite fast to meet Web at Suntec and lucky I was still early.

Went for "Xiao Wan Mian" again at the Marina food court. I think so far its the nicest I have eaten. Was damn hungry by 3pm+ as only ate fruits during lunch after my nap. Good thing Web dun have to work tonite else its gonna be quite tiring for him again. Left for home quite early and reached home 10pm+.

Going to watch one episode of the taiwan serial before hitting the bed, now waiting for it to load slowly as traffic is usually damn slow at nite.

Headache again!

Woke up this morning and felt abit of headache again. Already took panadol last night before going to bed and though could help abit but apparantly din work.

Felt so sleepy at work and took a short nap at 10am in the computer room. Din help much so decided to nap again at lunch time. Indeed felt better and hungry afterwards. Just had some fruits (green apple, pear & agar-agar) and still not so full. Got to see boss at 2.30pm, which is pretty soon so maybe grab something else to eat later.

Waiting day

Quite a busy morning as finished up some work and went for our annual privilege account certifcation with my colleagues. Decided to do it together so we could share knowledge and answers. Good thing for some materials too, we managed to pass the pre-assessment 100%. It was then off to lunch at the nearby famous ex-Blanco Court fish soup. Too bad it din taste as nice as before as we noticed they changed the cook.

Went for checkup at KKH today after lunch and spent the whole afternoon waiting and waiting. Although it goes by appointment time as queue no., I still waited almost 2.5hrs for my turn. My appointment time was 2.55pm and I reached at 2.15pm. It was already like 4.30pm+ when it was finally my turn. While waiting, I finished the last 1/4 of my chinese novel and managed to nap for quite a while. Really dunno when the queueing system is going to improve...

Blame it on some people who are always late, where some missed their turns and had to slot in between, and also the stupid appointment system too. Can you imagine there were appointment times like 2.50pm then 2.52pm then 2.55pm. How to see a patient within 2-3 mins where majority of them are pregnant and needs longer time.

Then there is the payment queue. Since the 1st visit, I have been smart to always grab a queue no. for payment 1st just minutes before I see the doctor. So it could be just 1-2 people in front of me for payment when I am done with the doctor. Otherwise, I could just tell the nurse I missed my no. and can sort of jump queue (and to avoid getting another queue no.).

Good thing is that there is finally improvement at the pharmacy as they have not only made the waiting area so much bigger, and had more counters to serve the people. Surprising only took me like 10-15 mins of waiting time there.

It had started raining since 3pm+ and din stop until I stepped out ard 5.30pm. Obviously the shutter bus queue was quite long, think had to wait for at least 2-3 turns so decided to sms my colleague to see if she will pass by if she going Toa Payoh. Lucky enough, she picked me up from the KKH bus stop and I had a rain-free ride home!

Was so hungry so bought some dishes from downstairs as mum had cooked rice and ate before taking a shower and started watching youtube then TV.

Its almost time for bed soon, but still feeling quite full. Hopefully no nightmare later!

New nail polish!

Went with colleagues to the Hollywood Nails shop at Parco Bugis Junction where we did classic pedicure and express manicure. Bought Mac to eat before we start as I was damn hungry.

Tried a new type of nail painting this time whereby they use sponge to dab the colours onto the nails. A pearl white colour was painted 1st after base coat, followed by the colours, then a coat of glitter polish and lastly a top coat. My fungus had already healed, thank goodness! Also did nail treatment for both hands and feet for yellowish nails. Spent a total of $57 this time round. Considered quite cheap as we got the express manicure free. Took me almost 2.5hrs though... My colleagues had gone off 1/2hr before me.

Updates

Its been days I blogged again. As usual, been either busy going out (as its weekend) or watching taiwan serials at youtube.com.

Went to Suntec/ Marina Square for dinner and shopping on Friday and lingered till 11pm+ while I headed home and Web back to work. Ended up he stayed till almost 5am+ then went home to rest. We met later in the afternoon on Saturday to visit his grandma at the hospital 1st before heading to GWC to catch a movie - Pan's Labyrinth. It turned out to be a Spanish show and so so only.

Its off to AMK again on Sunday while we played pool, walked around in the new AMK hub and then to the library before having our dinner at the hawker centre. Played Uno in MOS burger after walking abit to digest then headed home. Weekend is then over in a flash.

Feeling real tired today as couldn't really get to sleep last nite. Almost felt like zombie whole day and cun think of anything else to do. Boss is away finally and till Thursday so probably no mood to work till Friday, then its weekend again!

Came home, bathed, ate some snacks, watched some episodes of the latest posted serials and off to bed for a nap. Woke up minutes to 11pm and ate some oranges while I cleansed my face and did my mask, busy nite!

Been on discussion with Web about getting a flat recently. Initially had wanted to start lookout after mid of the year but after browsing the HDB site, realised it will take some time to find a flat. Had wanted to get resale flats but changed our mind as decided new ones are cheaper and better. Will also have to compromise for travelling distance in future as new flats are usually quite out of place.

Been surfing for HDB flats info today and realised its really a headache. If want to get a flat fast, need to keep a lookout for any announcements of new flats already available under walk-in-selection and then go and apply. If not, have to wait for 3-6 years under balloting or build-to-order schemes. Dun understand government leh, encourage people to get married and have kids, but made it so difficult to own a home!

Lazy to blog

Funny... dun seem to have mood or inspiration to blog nowadays. Did my brain juice suddenly run dry after the festive season? Well, could be also that I have been rather busy and only have limited free time to blog these days. Possibly coz most of our users are back and everyone is starting to disturb us for their problems and needs.

I also did not have enough sleep these days coz cun seem to sleep early these days. For 3 evenings this week, I napped after work coz really cannot tahan. The only days I did not nap was Wednesday coz went out shopping with sis and tonite coz meeting Web. What a week! Sure hope to catch some quality sleep this weekend!

Its lunch time now and the sky sort of cleared abit. It started raining on and off since yesterday morning and through the night. It was still ok when I left office last evening but was like a thunderstorm in Toa Payoh. The rain will suddenly be heavy and non stop in one minute, stopped on another, then heavy again... really wonder where all the rain come from.

As usual did my sales update from home this morning and dilly dally untill left home with sis to take train. Bought breakfast earlier and had it at home with sis coz was feeling damn hungry (since last nite in fact). Took a train to Novena Square to get my lunch before taking a cab to office. Luckily only waited like less than 10 mins for a cab even though there's about 4-5 persons in front of me.

Suddenly felt my hunger pangs so gonna eat 1st...

Lagging...

Haven't been blogging lately coz busy watching Taiwan serials, then after that no more energy or mood to blog. Been also having naps after dinner for the past two days coz was feeling damn tired.

Finally finished one of the serials "剪刀石头布" and now waiting for each episode of the 1st serial I started watching to be loaded. Both serials are nice in their own way and quite worth watching. After this, will take a break before new serials come out.

Woke up every morning feeling so tired but cun help it coz cun sleep too early at nite. Lucky thing is I napped to sort of recuperate some energy lost (but not sleep). After couping at home for the past 2 nights, tonite finally going shopping with sis. Its then ktv tomorrow coz sis craved to sing.

Work is as usual bz since its starting of a new year and a new month. Alot of follow up to do and things to be done/ arranged, especially when 2 floors are undergoing renovation soon.

Chanced upon this picture in cruzteng's blog... cun believe it! The man holding the baby and boy is the child actor Xiao Bin Bin (shown in right picture) and his son looks damn alike to him when small! Can you imagine he is only ard 26 years old or so and I have watched some of his movies last time. I am really getting old!!

Weekend updates

Saturday
Its off to East side again. Web had suggested cycling but I wasn't in a good condition coz sort of still having slight flu so we just shopped around Parkway Parade as usual. He also bought a perfume for his mum, which we cun seem to find it anywhere else, in one of the shops which sells perfumes, hair products etc cheaper than in departmental stores/ shops.

Had dinner at a nearby coffeeshop coz quite sick of the food in the food court and hawker centre. The food was just so-so only, guess wun drop by again.

Reached home 11pm+ and watched "剪刀石头布" till almost 2am++ and had to sleep coz effect of medicine.

Sunday
Its pool time again at AMK Mac Centre. Its been weeks since I last played pool but surprisingly I won most of the games today! I guess sometimes its luck shining on the right side...

Was quite tired after pool while we checked out the new AMK Hub (new interchange building). Realised that many shops are already opened, not only just the new NTUC Xtra. NUTC Xtra is truly damn huge, about 77,000 square feet, which can be compared to megamarts like Carrefour and Giant. There were so many people so we just walked one round and went out. Dun understand Singaporeans, not that things are super cheap but everyone just flocked there as if its free.

Our legs were aching and settled down for a rest before heading to the library. Only managed to read one chinese newspapers this time even though the room was not crowded. We then took a seat outside while I grabbed a book which I had previously borrowed for 6 weeks yet did not manage to complete. No choice had to return just last week coz its date due and I cun renew the 2nd time. Read almost more than 1/2 and borrowed the book again while we left for dinner at A*.

Its then back to watching "剪刀石头布" and one episode of "天使情人" till around 12am+.

Eeeeek!

Went lunch with colleague and had a bowl of yucky wanton mee. Asked for no chilli but halfway through then realised its so hot!! Cheat me!! Basket... worse is its not even nice. The fried wanton was so hard and the noodles got no taste, really regret!

Went to Parco Bugis Junction after that and we went our separate ways. Had to buy a drink coz my mouth was feeling so hot and realised the Thai Express had closed down! No more Thai Iced Tea for me... sob :( Went to buy Jollybean then decided to go do express pedicure since I have nothing to shop.

Tried out this shop "Hollywood Nails" which I last went to buy nail care stuff for Xris' Xmas present. This shop is actually quite huge as it can take up to 8 persons doing pedicure and 3 persons manicure at the same time, only dependent if there's enough staff. They have about 7 staff around just now, which was quite alot compared to other manicure shops.

Did my express pedicure at $15 and spent $40 more on nail medicine. Realised that my nails are growing fungus (how scary!) and need to cure as it will spread to other nails and will cause nails to break off completely! The gal told me that 3-4 nails are already affected to have to get them treated asap. Told her this problem had been around for months but no one advised me what is it. The last time I went for pedicure, the gal simply told me is internal problem but did not say what. Luckily it was discovered now else I cun imagine when my nails drop off!!

Had missed calls earlier but no time to call back and decided to do so before I head back to office in case its somewhere from Bugis (which I suspected so). Turned out was my watch was ready for collection. Had sent in before the Xmas week to have the strap replaced coz two parts cracked. Good thing its still replaceable even though its over 6 months of warranty. Got to be extra careful now so it will not crack again else no mroe replacement.

Sort of smudged 3 nails while walking back. Was already extremely careful but I think I wore the wrong sandals coz some parts hit the nails. Luckily it still looked ok from far... Since changed into another pair of slippers until the nails dry completely (estimated in 2 hrs).

Bz Bz Bz

Haven't been catching up on my blog these few days coz was busy with work during daytime (beginning of year to round up last year's stuff) and busy watching taiwan serial in the evening. I am watching 2 consecutive serials now coz the initial "天使情人" is still showing in Taiwan and it takes a while for people to load it up onto youtube.com. Am also watching "剪刀石头布" which I chanced upon it when browsing a user's video home site.

Money not enough

Web just told me he needs to go back to work tomorrow at 5am and at midnight for the next 2 Saturdays. I cun help but feel sorry for him, always kena arrowed to go back to office even though its not his standby month. His boss and colleague are not of any help coz they are the ones who always do the arrowing.

Dun understand why some people need to work extra for such a miserable pay but others kept complaining money not enough when they do not need to work that hard. I guess it depends on how satisfied or ambitious you are. For me, since I cannot get paid so much, why do so much and end up kena scolding everytime. I have began to loosen abit on myself since some years ago when I knew no matter how much I contribute, no one is going to appreciate me. As long as I do my work, I dun care if I do not give more than 100%. I see so many people so stressed around me, complaining so busy etc everyday in and out, and refusing to relax abit. I would like to live a fulfilling and healthy life thank you...

We only live once... why work till you lose your life and health, on the expense of more money? I was still discussing about this with my colleague yesterday on our way home in her car. We see many of our colleagues or frens slogging their whole life coz they want to strive in their careers and earn more keep, thus reglecting their families and friends, and end up alone with broken families or no social life. I want to earn my keep and enjoy my life, not slogging in work then spoil my health and spend more money on healthcare in future.

A colleague recently was transferred to another office and sort of got demoted from a director position to a manager one. Her son is now in Australia studying and heard that she had problems with her hubby coz she always work till very late (and expected her staff to do the same too) and was a slave driver. Her staff had changed several times over couple of years. Heard that her ex-boss used to be slave driver and worked till 10-11pm everynight to secure her career and ambition. She had since divorced from her hubby and her children are not close to her. She had retired and vert regretful that she had sacrificed her family. Friends are important too as they provide emotional support but none of them has any close ones coz of their characters. Cun help but I feel sad for both of them, losing their precious families becoz of work and only get to realise when they are now more or less alone.

Singapore is one of the country where the people think of work more than anything. Its definitely not healthy, no wonder people nowadays cannot take stress. Living in a developed country has its benefits but may not be the ideal scenario afterall. Would look forward to retire and enjoy life in countries like Australia where life is so simple and straight forward.

Till then, its back to reality...

Dinner and shopping

Met sis for dinner at Bishan Junction 8 last just now. She had facial initially but when I realised its an additional one as her package had been completed, advised her to go when required and dun waste money unneccessarily. Had dinner at Sakae Sushi as haven't been there for quite a while. We were so full although we din eat much and left for some shopping.

Aussino was having a sale (50% on second item and 40% discount off from some range) and I bought 2 sets of bedsheets in preparation for CNY. I always buy new bedsheets every year coz cannot stand sleeping on the same one again and again... Sis bought only one set as she could not find something she really likes. Most of the nicer stuff were obviously out of stock. We only spent $30+ on all 3 sets, quite a good bargain!

Walked around J8 but nothing to buy as usual. We then took a train home while I continued watching my serials.

1st day of work

Its the 1st day of work in 2007 and I almost din want to wake up. Slept 12am+ last night and managed to wake up after several alarm snoozes. Left home quite early and got on the 1st shutter bus. Forgotten colleague already ran sales update so should not have rushed to work but nevertheless makes no difference. Still need to get up early coz sis needs to bathe after me.

Was busy with some follow up work in the morning and then its lunch time. Had been feeling hungry even after eating some pandan cakes for breakfast. Kotok my colleague for free lunch at one zhi cha coffeeshop (Chin Chin) at Seah Street. It was then off to the library for me to return my book due today. Did not manage to read at all despite already renewing once. Probably will borrow again soon.

Supposed to collect my shoes at Seiyu Everbest but realised they fixed the wrong part. The upper parts broke but they change the hooks on the lower parts, dunno why. So blur cun see properly one meh... *many lines* So have to wait again while the gal will send it back again. I think by then I have to be prepared they might not be fixed after all. Time to source out for another new pair?

Nothing much to do now and should be going for a stroll soon. Felt so full after the heavy lunch...

Good start of the new year!

Was away for a retreat right at the start of the new year with Web at Changi Village Hotel and checked out today. Haven't been there for quite a while coz the rates have been going up and up. 1st time we stayed there, they were having a promo rate of $98+++ per night. Then I managed to buy vouchers from Yahoo! Auction and paid around $110 to $130 nett. The normal published rate was $120+++ and it went up to $140+++ at some point of time. Starting this year, its now $150+++ and we expect it will just increase again. After gaining popularity and occupancy, which hotel would be so stupid not to increase the rates right?

Anyway we checked in before 2pm yesterday and lazed around watching TV until its dinner time. Went out to the nearby hawker centre to pack back and it was damn crowded. Almost every single item we ordered needed at least 2o mins waiting time. When we were finally back to the hotel room, we realised it took us one hour just to buy food! Good thing we even bought supper so we dun have to struggle to queue again later in the night.

We ate as we watched the live EPL match between Liverpool and Bolton. We had bought $5 each of the exact score (3-0) as the odds were $11. It was more for the high odds than thnking Liverpool would win by 3-0. It was half-time and the score was still 0-0, we thought our hopes were almost dashed but Liverpool managed to score the 1st goal at the 61st minute (by Peter Couch). Just 83 seconds later, another goal was scored by Steven Gerrard. It was then 27 mins towards end of the game and we started getting pretty excited. The (or rather "our") crucial goal came at the 83rd minute by Kuyt, we were already at 3-0 but there was still 7 minutes to go. That seemed to be the longest 7 minutes and plus 3 minutes of extra time. Peter Crouch missed 3 more goals and we were sort of glad the opponent goal keeper saved them. Finally when its full time, we were totally overwhelmed by the excitement! We had won $110, meaning we will have $55 each. I was so happy and told Web that this spelled the start of a good year for us. Although its not alot of money but its the 1st time I won through soccer bets and also been a long while for Web since he last bought and won. Of coz another good news was that Liverpool won too, so its double happiness for us!


Continued watching some other soccer matches and switched channel to watch part of a james Bond movie before heading for bed. Did not sleep well as kept waking up and finally we woke up almost ard 11am. It was then TV time again and watched the show "The Aviator". Not that nice or interesting but nothing much to watch. It was then shower time and checked out at 2pm.

Had lunch at the hawker centre before taking 59 home. I then watched abit of the taiwan serial "天使情人" then its off for a nap. Woke up feeling hungry and suddenly craved for McDonalds so went down to buy. So full now... and waiting for food to digest abit before hitting the showers and continue my taiwan serial.
