Starting of a long weekend

Friday
On leave today coz wanted to have a long weekend until starting work on 3 Jan 07. Woke up late as usual (ard 12 noon) and dilly dally with shower and brunch. Started watching a new taiwan serial "天使情人". Realised there's this show when I saw the sound track at CD Rama yesterday. Decided to search for it at youtube.com and bravo... found it! Watched about 5 episodes before going out to meet Web.

Ate at Lemongrass today coz wanted to make use of the last 30% discount voucher I have. It expires on 30 Dec 06 so its probably the last chance to enjoy the discount. It was then walking around Orchard again, or more like only in Taka while we sat to watch people go by.

Continued watching the taiwan serial but network was damn slow. Loaded the video several times and did not even manage to finish one single episode in full. Decided to go to bed as its almost 2am.

Saturday
Met Web at YCK mrt stn intending to go to East Coast for cycling since the weather looked fine. It was until when we reached there that we realised the sky was quite dark so decided to abort our plan. Had something to eat at the food court and shopped around in Parkway Parade SC before taking a bus down to Chinatown to check out some perfume prices. We then walked to Boat Quay and had our late dinner at one of the coffee shops there and left for home.

Had wanted to find the "天使情人" VCD or DVD but realised its not out in the market yet. Quite disappointed coz thought would be faster to watch by VCD or DVD but too bad.

Sunday
Headed to West side today and met Web in AMK to take train to Jurong East. We walked to IMM 1st and really surprised it changed so much. They opened a new wing where it used to be the open carpark area. Many more new shops were seen there, especially the Espirit store (sort of like factory outlet store).

We sat down and bought some snacks as I only ate abit during brunch and proceeded on to shop around. Actually was just simply walking around to pass time as cun really shop with a guy. We then left IMM and sat down at Fuji Ice Palace at the central and watch people skating. It was then off to dinner where we enjoyed nice zhi cha from S-11, which was surprising very nice and cheap.

Went back to see people skating again but the main lights were off by then and had a nice ambience. They even extended operation hours till 12.30am and had a countdown. There were few people around 10pm when we left and we wondered if there will be anyone at the countdown at all.

Its almost minutes till midnight and a brand new year... 2006 passed in a swift and its gonna be a new year again. Time really passes by really fast when we are grown ups... so sad...

Xmas present for myself!

Nothing much to do in office today and feeling cold coz walking around to keep myself awake. Thought would have a peaceful day before my leave tomorrow but my boss came in so felt super sian suddenly. Lucky thing is she din really bother me as she got tons of mail to clear. She left shortly ard lunch time and said will be back tomorrow and I am on leave!! Yeah!!

Rained on and off again as usual. Wanted to go out for lunch but dunno where to go. Was having a stomahache so decided to just pack lunch from downstairs. It started raining heavily as I was walking back to office, good thing I din go out.

Reached Toa Payoh Central early as was meeting sis. Left office ard 5.20pm coz wanted to catch the 1st shutter bus as its still raining. Dun want to end up squeezing for a seat with others again so only way is to go damn early and wait.

Went straight to Citigems wanting to see what kind of diamond earrings they have. At 1st the salesgal thought I wanted to buy a single side of an earring and suggested I use a pendant to convert. She then suggested why not buy a pair as I could change and wear. I was like "huh... I want to get a pair". Who on earth will buy one side, unless its a guy la. Anyway this salesgal wasn't that friendly and alert as most of the time she dunno what I am talking about.

Eventually after seeing few pairs of earrings, decided to get one which costs $500+. Its actually a special cut in the range of "Passion" and having 20% off. The other earrings she showed me (plus rest of the normal items) are on 50% sale but they were not as bright and shiny as the one I bought. Initially did not intend to spend that much but thought so long never buy any diamonds for myself so shall make it a Xmas gift for myself.

The earrings even come with a diamond scope (something like microscope) for the viewing of the diamond cut. Its really quite impressive when I looked into the scope, and used it to view my other diamonds and there is really a big difference!

This pair is also upgradeable within 2 years so its quite a good bargain. Suddenly got the urge to buy diamond earrings coz after buying a pair for Hui for her ROM, then realised I got no diamond studs to wear for special occasions. So its time to spoil myself again!!

Sis joined me while I was still at Citigems and we left for dinner at the "Koufu" food court shortly. We ate Carona Chicken rice, my favourite stall whenever we are there. It was then off to Popular and CD Rama as sis needs to buy some stationeries and CDs. Next was to NTUC (near Courts) to buy baking stuff but ended up we bought so much junk foods (instant noodles, crackers, chocolates, sweets etc.). Sis only got a couple of basic stuff (pizza baking tray, mixing powder and weighing scale). Told sis she can slowly come and shop for her stuff when she knows exactly what to buy and not buying anything more junk food coz we had difficulty dragging the bags home (especially when taking bus and still drizzling)!

Xmas gifts & chocs

Got some Xmas gifts from colleagues... so sweet of them.

Just given them a small token only...

Plus some chocolates from Hyatt hotel (compliment from Venetia) and my vendor.

Busy day!

Woke up early, quite unwillingly, to run my daily sales update from home. Was quite stone and thought could sleep a while before waking up to check on emails etc but just not able to. Started to feel headache again, probably not enough sleep and got disturbance by my alarm and the noise outside. Ended up slept till almost 12 noon then woke up to shower as need to leave home by 12.45pm to go Registry of Marriage for Hui's ROM ceremony.

It started raining quite heavy before we left home but luckily stopped when we were leaving and managed to get a cab quite fast. Picked up Angeline at Peninsula on the way and Xris was already there. Hanged around and took some pictures before we were ushered into the private solemnization suite. The ceremony was quite fast, over in less than 20 mins and more pictures sessions followed before we proceeded to a restaurant down the hill for lunch. It was quite tough going downtown in our heels as its really steep! Dunno why they design the road like that, not user friendly at all. We need to hold onto each other for support before reaching the restaurant in one piece.

The food (buffet style) was good and the restaurant decor quite nice except that the usher was quite blur and not very courteous and the place was quite cramped. We were all very hungry by then so ate quite a lot and were feeling so bloated after that. Sat around and chatted until we finally made our departure ard 3.30pm+ after some pictures taking.

Walked down to Funan taxi stand just across the road as Xris took a cab back to office while Angeline went to take mrt (for shopping). We also took a cab home while both me and sis napped for a while before going out for shopping again. Imagine we were already so tired (plus we got headache too) so I guess Hui should be worn out too.

It was again raining heavily when we were leaving for Orchard, lucky we got shelter all the way. Started with Taka 1st and as usual din buy much stuff except for farewell gifts for my colleague. Sis bought a purple poodle soft toy which she was eyeing for some time. We then walked over to the Paragon for dinner at Nooch and more window shopping at Metro. Saw a pair of shoes by Ecco and thought would check out at Taka 1st since we got vouchers. Walked back to Taka but too bad they dun carry that design... and the pair costs $95 so gotta think twice. It was then to Kino while we bought books (one of which is Xris' Xmas present to my sis) and stationeries.

Walked around Isetan Orchard and Espirit still bought nothing. Left for home while it started raining very heavily again. We were thinking Hui was lucky coz the rain stopped during her ROM else would be very inconvenient for everyone (especially getting there and to the restaurant).

Still feeling headache but gotta work tomorrow. Good thing already took leave on Friday so gonna have a long weekend before its a new year again. No more holidays by then until Chinese New Year in late February!

p/s: will post the ROM's pictures when Xris send them over...

What Kind of Girlfriend Are You?

You're a steady supporter

Stand by your man — that's just something you naturally do. Once you've committed to a relationship, you are a constant companion who enjoys the comfort and stability that comes from being a couple. Not quick to judge, accuse, or think the worst, you have a lot of trust (in him and in yourself), and you rarely worry about where he is or who he's with.

For you, mutual respect is of utmost importance. You are comfortable and confident in your own skin, making you a great pillar of strength in all your relationships. Whether he's striving to climb a mountain or land a promotion, you have his back. Best part is, you know he's got yours too.

Take the test too!

What Tarot Card are You?

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

Take the Test to Find Out.

No mood to work

Oh my god, I am sitting here doing nothing except chatting with Hui, sis and Xris on and off, and trying to find something to surf (and act busy).

Its so damn quiet in the office, less than 10 people on my floor and not much difference in other floors I heard. Next few days will be worse I think but bo bian still need to come back to work on Thursday. Already decided not to come in tomorrow morning and shall work from home coz took the afternoon off for Hui's ROM. Friday will be on leave and now looking forward to the super long weekend. Too bad everyone else has to work on Friday so I would probably sleep late and laze around at home then go out earlier to shop abit before meeting Web in the evening.

Its still raining so we were smart to pack our lunches earlier at 11.30am and went up to my colleague's new office on the 25th floor to eat and chat. Its pretty cold up there coz no one around as its just near completion and the majority will only start moving up next week.

Got facial at 7pm later and really got no mood to go at all. Hate this kind of wet weather coz its very stressful trying to get on the shutter bus and then walk a longer route to Wheelock Place via the underpass from the Orchard mrt station to Tangs, Isetan Scotts then finally over to my destination. Will probably buy something to eat and shop around abit before the facial.

Finally in office

Ya i finally reached office, took train to Novena Sq then took a cab, alighted in our carpark so not a single drop of rain on me despite its still pouring as fierce as ever. Cab fare is only $5.10, coz purposely waited till 9.30am to avoid the $2 peak hrs surcharge... smart rite?

Saw a few empty cabs when I was walking to Braddell mrt station but decided to take at Novena Sq coz at least there's shelter. Rain quite heavy so must avoid bringing out umbrella into open space coz will get wet anyway.

Quite quiet in the office as expected and my two colleagues are chatting on a movie "The Death Note 2 - The Last Name" like nobody's business... so noisy...

Sky's pouring again...

Well, its pouring quite heavily again, after some rest over the weekends. Just done by daily sales update from home and sitting here and checking if anyone gets to the office on time. No one at all, as usual on a raining day. Will wait a while for the rain to subside abit (which looks quite impossible) and going to office late. Weather forecast on radio said that it will be storming throughout Singapore today and looks like I will have some difficulty making way to the office later. Nevermind worry later... Not much people in the office this week anyway and boss not around so can be flexi abit...

Merry Xmas and updates!

Merry Xmas!

No time and mood to blog since Friday and was away over the Xmas holidays with Web at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. It wasn't too bad and will consider going back if the rate is good. This time I booked at $148+++ which was surprising quite a good bargain considering its festive season. The room size was so so but at least the check in was fast and service good. The included breakfast was good too, except couldn't eat alot in the morning.

My breakfast items:

Nice decor of the Brio cafe where we had our breakfast.

Got 3 cute items from Web for Xmas - a remote control holder, happy feet dining set and a crumpler camera pouch! Web wrapped them himself and its a good accomplishment!

Checked out ard 2pm and took a nap after I reached home then went out again to have dinner with family and Peggy. Bro is still overseas and coming back only tomorrow so we asked her out. Later decided to include my parents since they have nothing on and its Xmas. Went to this HK cafe at Novena Ville and although prices are quite steep, the food was suprising nice! So far been to several HK cafes in Singapore but none has got the HK standard. HK cafe food is generally quite ex in Singapore, probably coz its restaurant style. Their 1st branch is at East Coast and was apparantly quite popular and crowded.

Peggy then drove to Novena Square for the after dinner stroll and we checked out the new Velocity wing. Nothing great coz not much shops as the area is not too huge. But at least Novena Square draws more crowd now. Went home after buying bread for breakfast tomorrow.

Saturday
Watched "Night at the Museum" at GWC. Quite a funny and somewhat touching show... can watch. We then shopped abit at GWC and walked to the nearby food centre (Zion Rd Food Centre) for dinner. We had passed by this food centre several times but haven't really got chance to walk there and try. Surprising the crowd was ok and food nice, probably coz parking is not that convenient there. Its just across the road from GWC (the side where the bus stop is to the direction of Orchard). After that we took the shutter from GWC back to Marriott hotel and walked abit around Wisma. Managed to buy a pair of diamond earrings for Hui's ROM at Lee Hwa. We were there at the right time coz they were having a 50% late night shopping sale then.

(pictures taken from Hui's blog)

There were too many people and nearing 10pm so we left for home.

Friday
Met Web near his office after work and we had dinner at one of the coffee shops serving hainanese chicken rice near the Chinatown open air food street. The food was good and price reasonable.

We then walked abit around Chinatown then to the open field beside Fook Hai building where there was a Lion Dance troupe "点睛" ceremony (had to do this b4 a lion head can be officially used to perform). There were about 100 lion heads for the ceremony and they had a dinner for the guests as well. We had intended to walk to the nearby Telok Ayer CC for the restrooms 1st while it started drizzling then getting heavier as we walked. Ended up we watched the ceremony from the CC and then walked back to Raffles Place and took a train back.

Rain report

Rain report:

Sat, 16 Dec 06 - raining whole day
Sun, 17 Dec 06 - raining whole day
Mon, 18 Dec 06 - raining whole day
Tue, 19 Dec 06 - raining whole day
Wed, 20 Dec 06 - raining whole day (some areas flooded)
Thu, 21 Dec 06 - morning sunny day and partial rain in the afternoon and night
Fri, 22 Dec 06 - morning to noon cloudy, raining in the afternoon

When is it going to stop...

Rain, rain go away...

Finally... most presents settled

Back from lunch time shopping in Suntec. Luckily I went early and came back early coz it rained quite heavily just minutes ago.

Went in straight into Adidas and bought a Liverpool shirt for Web then walked around Suntec but cun find anything else. Later decided to get a weighing scale for him at Carrefour and got a hair dryer for my mama.

Was carrying so much stuff and wondering what to eat so just bought a bao and 2 siew mai, with one more popiah from OCK and sat down with my bulky and somewhat heavy stuff to eat. Bought lemonade after that and drank while walking back. A bit regretted bringing my umbrella out but scared either too hot or rain coz its quite troublesome carrying it with all my stuff.

Finally settled most of the presents, only left bro's one which would be belated coz he's already in South Africa now. So we have more time to shop and buy until he is back.

Sleepy Friday

Its TGIF! Right now while I am typing this, our building is undergoing the Fire Drill Exercise. Obviously I am not going down, as usual coz of my medical conditions - heel problem and vertigio imbalance (giddiness). However, I have been a fire warden since we moved here in 2001, not by choice but by force. Argued this issue with my boss before and obviously no conclusion. So I told her since I am forced, dun expect me to go down everytime there is a fire drill, except real fire of coz. Really pissed off with her over this coz I dun understand why this responsibility cannot be rotated and only falls on admin staff. Anyway it will be no ending if I continue to argue so I give up. Do what she wants, and I do what I want. FYI, she also never go down during fire drill... kns.

Slept quite late last night and woke up sleepy again this morning. Cun really force myself to go to bed early unless I am real tired. My biological clock seems have adjusted to my late nights now.

Anyway I am starting to panic now coz I haven't got present for Web and got no time this weekend coz will be meeting him from tonite so probably will have to try get something during lunch. Parco Bugis Junction is out coz I have been there umpteen times but found nothing to buy so thinking might try Suntec. Wanted to take a cab down to Parkway Parade (or anywhere else) but scared will have difficulty getting a cab back coz everyone's out shopping. Really headache~

The fire drill is finally over so I should be heading out soon, to avoid the lunchtime crowd...

More Xmas gifts

Haven't got anything for bro yet and we got so much stuff from him and Peggy. Except for the biscuits and chocolates (for sharing), sis and me had a set of the gifts each - a name photo frame, cute birthday bear and Taka vouchers!

Shall try to get something over this weekend, hopefully during tomorrow's lunch. Bro is flying off later tonite and back on 26th, so will be a belated one.

Had dinner with family and grandma just now at United Square's Noodle Hut. Forgot to take pictures of the dishes we orderes, probably too hungry! The food was not bad and bro paid for it coz he just got his 1st pay after officially completed his training and now part of the air crew.

Grandma joined us last min coz bro said saw her loitering around 7-11 so they decided to ask her along when they were leaving by car. Me, Peggy and sis went to United Square on our own and reached there earlier. Me and Peggy then took mrt home coz too cramp for the car (7 of us!). Sis had initially wanted to leave with us but she was helping grandma when grandma held her hand so she's stuck to eave with them... hahaha...

Food!

Interesting blog site for food reviews...

ieatishootipost

Its finally Thursday!

Its Thursday finally... but still seem like its so far to weekend. Monday was on leave but still felt like a long week. Probably coz nothing much to do at work and time flies slower. Boss on leave so we are more relaxed but so are many others.

Woke up this morning, its raining again. Had a headache so asked sis to bathe 1st while I woke up to run my daily sales update from home. Decided to nap abit more after medicine and messaged my colleague that I will be a bit late. Eventually decided to take 1/2 morning off and now back to office after lunch at home. It finally stopped raining by the time I left home, and took a cab coz too lazy to walk to office (no shutter bus during lunch).

Headache still abit pounding in my head but so much better after a nap. Eyes still felt sleepy though... Gonna have a family dinner plus pre-Xmas celebration but haven't decided on the place. Sis had said mum wanted to try turkey but brother told me mum cun remembered she said that... *many lines*. Anyway bro is flying off after midnite tonite so we will probably settle somewhere fast and nearby.

Bought a Xmas present for Peggy but nothing for bro yet. Maybe later will go off and shop abit before meeting them, hopefully able to find something. Also gave sis her presents last nite and that sure made her very happy. Look out for her post soon...

Photos of our gift exchange

We took a mini polaroid photo each and used them as lots. Played "Oh Ah Peh Ah Som" and decided who to choose 1st. Xris initially started 1st but ended up drawing her own photo so had to replay again. Eventually, I selected Xris' present, Xris got Hui's, Hui got Angeline's and Angeline got mine.

Before opening up, we presented each other with personalised gifts from each other. Each of us bought a separate gift each for the other 3. Look at our presents... looks like more than 4 people exchanging presents wasn't it?

Ok, let's start with mine 1st.

Got a manicure set from Xris, consisting of 4 bottles of nail polishes, nail polish remover, nail art stickers and nail buffer from The Face Shop. Nice!

Then opened up the rest and got a set of french manicure nail polish from Hui (one of those in the 1st picture below), a drawer box (Precious Moments) from Angeline and a hand cream (Crabtree & Evelyn) from Xris.

Next comes Xris' presents. Gave her OPI rapid dry top coat and base coat, something she had asked for. Its the easiest coz I dun really need to crack my head! Also included a cute cartoon roll-on stick (decorations purposes) for her.

Then its Hui's turn. Bought her an Adidas pink sling bag with a cute roll-on as well. The minute I stepped into Adidas, I thought of Hui so choose a sling bag for her. The other colours were quite dull so chose this pink for her...

Lastly, its Angeline's turn. She got my gift exchange items - which is a towel and bath set with a cute mug. The salesgal at Metro actually forgot to remove the price tag for the mug... so stupid!! The other personalised gift consisted of a lavender pouches set and a purple nail polish from Paul & Joe.

After that we were busy taking individual pictures of the presents and it was indeed tiring! We then packed up before relaxing abit and chatted till we changed place.

Its feasting time!!

Arrived in the office on Tuesday after a day's leave and was surprised with a log cake from my vendor. Before we could start feasting, heard from my colleague there's another cut one from another vendor. So we took the cut ones during our morning break and arranged for a mini tea time gathering in the afternoon for the uncut one.

1st one was from Marriott Hotel and the second one (in the picture) was from Fullerton Hotel. Surprising the Marriott one tasted better, probably coz they used dark chocolate.

Stepped away from my desk today for a while and came back greeted with yet another sort-of hamper. No more logcake this time (phew!) but had a cake pie and a box of muffins with some biscuits nicely wrapped! Xmas time is also putting weight time!!

The muffin was quite nice but I still preferred the ones Web bought for me from V'illage. The cake pie and muffins (ate some already) will be for tea tomorrow.

Returned gifts

Got back 2 wrapped gifts intended for the Xmas cheer kids' party yesterday. Heard that some children did not turn up at the party so the gifts were not given to them. Thought it was quite weird coz I dun think it makes any difference. Then heard that one home brought more kids and were given the gifts intended for those absent. Mine were part of those excess ones brought back to the office.

They had wanted to donate these few leftover gifts, about 7-8 of them to the charity box but most were already wrapped and labelled, so I decided to take back mine for other use and suggested to return the rest to those who bought to see how they want to do with them instead. Mine included a pack of glitter pens and one glitter art (plus other arts and crafts) set.

Feel disappointed for the kids who did not come but no choice, I guess have to be fair to the rest who came. Anyway dunno what's the logic coz some gifts were also given to those who came unexpected...

Sleepy!

It has miraculously stopped raining for a change. It rained and rained whole day and nite until some roads were flooded almost covering 3/4 of a vehicle. Saw pictures of the flood on TODAY and 我报 and was really shocked. We were still complaining about the heavy rain and tried to keep indoors but some others were unwillingly trapped and soaked in water!

Some people were seen having fun afloat some make shift platform...

Singapore also experienced the highest amount of rainfall in 75 years yesterday, unbelievable! Extracted from TODAY "Floods forced many roads to be closed, especially in the northern parts of the island. Among the worst hit were the Thomson and Mandai areas. Even the reservoirs collected more than they could hold — the downpours led to spillage at the MacRitchie and Upper Seletar water catchment areas."

Slept around 1am+ and now starting to feel sleepy. Still got some Xmas presents yet to buy for Web, bro and Peggy... Dunno if I should go out during lunch to buy... Abit no energy to go out...

Pre Xmas celebration

Just settled down after a shower coz just got home barely half an hr ago. Met up with the gals (Xris, Angeline and Hui) for dinner and Xmas gift exchange. Initially planned to go Tony Roma's but ended up at Fish & Co. Wheelock Place instead. Mainly coz of the rain so tried to keep the walking distance indoors if possible.

Its been pouring again since dunno when, sort of lost track coz it never seem to stop since Saturday. Repeat again, really dun understand where did all the rain come from... *many lines* Maybe in no time, Singapore will snow!! Haha... its dreaming time...

Left office and braved through the rain to snatch a seat in the shutter bus. I thought I was smart and fast but still cannot beat those kiasu aunties jumping queue to board the shutter bus with only 19 seaters, real stressed!! Dun care la, they jump queue and anyhow I also follow, else will end up kena drenched (even though carrying umbrella) and have to wait for next bus. My poor Gucci bag was abit drenched, my paper bag drenched and almost breaking apart. My skirt and sandals were wet too.... what a weather...

Reached Orchard abit past 6pm and proceeded to Popular to get vouchers for sis. She actually wanted to buy CDs from CD Rama but the vouchers were only sold in Popular. Afterwards, walked through the underpass to Wheelock Place passing by Tangs and Isetan to avoid walking out in the rain. Went to MTM to get my product blended as well as buying more products. The consultant said my skin is so much better and so far so good (of coz la, after spending so much else long biat!). Just have to invest more on products since I will be going facial less frequent than now (no more package).

Anyway we shared 4 main courses and one appetizer at Fish & Co. and managed to finish almost everything!

We then exchanged presents, gave each of them individual presents as well as busy taking pictures. The table suddenly seemed too small coz there were too many presents. We have 4 presents each - one from exchange and one from each of us.

Finally tired after all the excitement while we settled the bill ard 10pm+ and changed venue. Wanted to go NYDC but realised they close at 10.30pm. All other places either close at 10.30pm, 11pm or already closing so we ended up at McDonalds Shaw House coz they close at 12am. After some food, drinks and chatting, we shared a cab home. Even took quite a while to get a cab as we tried calling several taxi companies.

The sound of the heavy rain should make it better to sleep tonite...

p/s: more photos soon...

Special preview

Its raining very heavily again as I got back from lunch. Good thing I went out early when it was drizzling and hurried back when the rain was just going to get heavy. Carried so much stuff until my left arm's quite aching now.

Managed to buy all the remaining presents for the gals and have them (plus some bought earlier) wrapped after my packed lunch from Yakitori.

Preview of the presents for tonite...

Presents for gift exchange

Presents for Xris, Hui and Angeline

The contents shall unfold tonite....

Raining again...

Its raining again, never really stopped since last nite, or rather since Saturday. Its non stop which leads me wondering how come there is so much rain.

Woke up on time, bathed and took my time running my sales update from home and had breakfast before slowly walking out to the mrt station when the rain subsided abit. Then realised my right white sandal got purple paint on the right top corner. Dunno which blur sotong actually can paint the door until kena my sandal...

Had intended to stop by Novena and take a taxi to work to avoid getting drenched in this kind of weather but got a seat so took a risk. Good thing was that it was not raining when I was at Bugis, waiting for the shutter bus. Reached office area and it was only drizzling so got to office without opening my umbrella. It was then heavy rain thus my colleagues reached quite late. The weather looks clearer now but should be still drizzling. Hope it will stop abit during lunch so I could still do my shopping.

Monday
Its another wet day...

Left home when the rain stopped and surprised that it was quite heavy in AMK. Met Web for KTV again (nowhere to go), The KTV was damn empty as there seemed to be less than 10 occupied rooms. We were running out of songs to sing and spent more time watching MTVs. Also sang some really old songs as well as English ones.

The rain stopped abit ard 7pm while we walked to the hawker centre for dinner. It was then heavy rain but we managed to walk through the shelters to MOS Burger for our usual milk tea and Uno game. It was 10pm but still raining so we waited for it to subside abit before leaving for home.

It started pouring heavily again towards midnight and nice to sleep...

Pissed off

Pissed off by my fren (ex-classmate to be exact) who just called me. As you know she is the kind who "无事不登三宝店" (dunno is it correct words but agar la). The minute I heard her voice I was like "..." as she starting asking how come I wasn't online on yahoo messenger these days (obviously I am avoiding her) and then starting asking me about Microsoft office stuff again. I really REALLY wonder how she could land up in her current position and getting more than 4k in salary when she practically knows nothing about Microsoft Office except those damn basic stuff which even primary school kids will know. The more I think of it, the more angry I am. This world is so damn unfair...!! @#*@&)@*&)@#&)(#

Wet Sunday

Woke up with a headache again... damn! Yestesday was more on the left side and today shifted to the right. Ate medicine for headache and giddiness and took a nap b4 going out to meet Web. Luckily the headache subsided by mid day and thus not much yawning today.

It started raining since b4 11am and lasted almost the whole day. Can still hear raindrops now... really a wet Sunday. We went to Suntec then Marina Square and lastly to Raffles City, all indoor places. It was still as crowded even though its Sunday (and raining), probably coz its still school holidays. I sure hope school reopens soon...

Managed to pay my last credit card bill at the GV Marina area after resting there for almost 1/2 hr on the sofa. Web fell asleep there and I dozed off few times while watching the trailers and advertisements. Luckily it was not as crowded there compared to Saturdays.

Had dinner at Cavana at Marina Square, which is fastly becoming our favourite food joint, and then drinks at MOS Burger again (at Raffles City). Shopped abit at Robinsons but found nothing to buy even though there's a 15% to 20% discount during this festive season. The store is also extending shopping hrs till midnight over the weekends until Xmas eve. Its quite peaceful to shop but there seemed to be more sales personnel than customers so quite pressurised too. Left for home since its getting late.

Will be on leave tomorrow and hopefully no headache and rain tomorrow.

Yawning day

Its a headache day again coz its that time of the month again. Luckily this time was not as bad as other months but it still tortured me the whole day. Was feeling giddy and sleepy in between and I probably yawned the most today, from the time I was out until going back time.

Met Web at PS and started out there. Was walking around (and yawning) and then decided should find somewhere to sit long enough and managed to get tickets for "Eragon". The show was so so as there wasn't much climax and just a typical kind of story. Heard it was written by a 15 year old boy so cun really expect too profound stuff. The effects and locations etc can easily tell you its a low budget film but nevertheless, we stayed awake about 80% of the show (and yawning throughout). I was somehow affected by my headache and medication that my eyes just refused to open widely during the start of the show. Good thing it wasn't so long like "Lord of the Rings" else confirm it will be the 1st time I fall asleep inside the cinema.

Was already half hungry half through the show so we headed for dinner straight after the show and was lucky to get a table at the foodcourt. It was then off to Hotel Rendezvous again to watch the live match of Charlton Vs Liverpool. We saw that couple again as expected. Played a few rounds of Uno before the start of the match and I was again yawning away, just couldn't control it.

Left after the match and took mrt home. Good thing my yawning finally stopped...

Managed to pay my credit card bills when I was on the way home coz forgotten on Friday and din pass by any AXS station. Missed a card bill coz forgot to write down the credit card no. and din bring the card along. And just realised the date due is tomorrow when I took the slip of paper I written out. Must remember tomorrow...

Tiring shopping day!

Woke up feeling happy coz its Friday, also coz took half day's leave today in the afternoon. Only in the morning then I realised my boss is taking half day off as well coz she will be coming back on 29 Dec to have a meeting with her boss. She was initially dued to return only next year. Heng I already took leave on 29 Dec so I wun see her afterall from this afternoon onwards!! Yeah!!!

Went down to the Swatch shop again to send in one of my watches bought sometime in May. The strap was somehow cracked so see if still can repair. Met Web after that and took a train down to Expo. There was this Nike warehouse sale going on but when we reached, very shocked to find the entrance queue very long. We estimated have to wait at least an hr b4 could in get coz already very cramped inside the hall.

We went for our lunch 1st and thereafter to the Buddha Relics exhibition also held there. Really impressed and astonished to see all those colourful relics of the Buddha. Really no words could describe the overwhelming displays of relics from Buddha and some of his disciples. Never expect there would be such miraculous thing on earth. Couldn't take any pictures or rather not so appropriate to do so as the place was set up very grandly.

Walked back to the Nike sale hall and surprised to see the long queue at the entrance gone. We managed to go in without any problem but again was shocked at the long, long queue for the payment. I think these people really have the patience coz looked like it will take them at least 2-3 hrs for their turn. Most of the stuff were already running low on stock, seen with our eyes and confirmed with the announcements. I wonder if there will be any left for the next two days. Anyway the stuff were not really that cheap so I dunno what's the big deal and these people actually spent the whole day here just buying few items each.

Left Expo and headed to Tampines central. We were quite tired so sat down for a drink + snacks and some Uno games at Long John Silver before shopping around Tampines Mall and Century Square. Web managed to buy a pair of leather shoes at Isetan for only $59, half of the original price. Its quite a good bargain and they looked nice on him. He had wanted to get a pair of jeans but Levi dun really seem to be having any sale so we skipped after browsing for a while. I finally managed to get something for the gift exchange with the gals next week at Metro. But I am still lost for ideas on what to get for each of them. Actually bought some stuff already so considered half done. Still haven't bought anything for Web too and really dunno what to get for him.

Time flies quite fast as it was soon 7pm+ while we headed to Qi Ji and had nasi lemak for dinner. Continued on at the Macdonalds near the bus interchange for more drinks and Uno. We then took bus 72 from Tampines and Web alighted 1st while I alighted at YCK station and took train home.

I almost fell down from the steps of the bus when I alighted as I was abit kan jiong coz there was someone behind me and my shopping bag was sort of blocking my view. I missed the last 2nd step of the staircase and jumped straight onto the lower deck with a loud thump. I think the driver and the guy behind me must think I am mad... so malu.

TCC

Read Xris' blog about her experience visiting TCC just this week. I was quite angry too and supported what she did that nite, so I sent a feedback to TCC.

My feedback to TCC as follows:
I have been going to TCC many times and so far find the service good and food nice. However, I was disappointed when I heard from my friend that she had a bad experience visiting your Perankan place branch just this week. She was with her friend and went in the branch near to 10pm and wanted a sofa seat table but was turned down as the waitress mentioned its under reservation. I am surprised that TCC do take in reservation when I thought its purely walk-in. Anyway, that's not the point. Before my friend started ordering, 2 ladies stepped in and asked for the safe seat table and was ushered in. Obviously my friend was quite upset and asked the waitress if they were the one who made the reservation and she said no. My friend then stomped to the counter and told the waitress off and left the place. Service standard in Singapore is already quite bad and I am very sad that TCC is not doing any better. Does the waitress actually judge people whom they like or do not like when they usher guests to the tables? Or maybe some guests are more dressed up or coz they are foreigners? This is really bad and sure hope someone would seriously look into this matter. This is putting me off if I should visit this branch again.

I have always preferred TCC to Coffee Club etc coz I find their food nicer and service better. Have particularly visited this branch (Perankan Place) at least 3 times and so far found it quite good. Really disappointed to hear of such experience from Xris. Anyway let's see if anyone replies.

Nice Xmas trees

Saw these 2 special xmas trees in Bugis Junction. One is the Soo Kee Diamond Xmas tree on display near the InterContinental Hotel and one is the DKNY version in Seiyu.

My new watch!

This is the watch I got from my D&D lucky draw. Dunno about others but I just find it damn ugly and I would never wear it.

Of coz me being smart, decided to check out the Swatch store if they allow me to exchange without a receipt. Not so nice to ask the person who bought it coz dun want to direct imply that her taste sucks...hahaha...

Went down to check yesterday coz forgot to bring my watch to the office and the salesgal said that usually exchange is within 7 days from same branch but she is flexible to extend 2-3 days and told me to go back and check the stamp date on the warranty card. I was glad when I checked that it was purchased on 5 Dec 06, meaning it only exceeded 2 days from the usual exchange days.

Went down again today during lunch and after much selection, this is what I got. Only need to top up $20 and I have a watch which I like! My colleague even commented its very nice and I simply love it!

Had wanted to get this Xmas edition watch (see below) but the salegal pointed out to me that:

(1) It had to be wiped at least once a week, unless worn daily, to prevent the plastic area (clock area) turning yellowish.

(2) Need to take care in case the crystals from the strap drops out.

So I think its too much of a hassle and I dun really look nice with the rectangle shaped clock face, although the strap looked nice from afar.

So anyway I still like the watch I chose.

Idiot boss again

Yeah just back from lunch time shopping and bought Yoshinoya plus additional chicken balls from another stall back. Just finished eating yum yum...

It rained very heavily around 12.30pm so I delayed a while before heading out. It was still drizzling abit on my way to and fro.

Was trying to shop for the gift exchange with Xris, Hui and Qi but to no avail. Simply cannot find anything to buy for $15. Will try to shop again tomorrow or over the weekends. Bought 2 issues of the UW mag coz now on sale (half price of the usual $2) and you know what, I got 3 bottles of drinks free! Dunno what kind of promo but really interesting but I had problem carrying them back coz the mama shop dun have carrier enough to put the big mags then plus another packet of drinks. On top of these, I still had a bag from ABNC (bought some cards and fun stuff), my packet of lunch, my lunch bag and not forgetting my umbrella! End up I had to go Seiyu and asked for a big plastic bag to dump all those things in and carry back.

My stupid boss called me just now while I was halfway through, saying she need someone to sametime my colleague who is already in our Jurong Plant in preparation for the DRP exercise. She just need to let him know they are leaving the office and will reach at around 2.10pm. Seriously I dun know what's the issue for the need to inform my colleague when he is already expecting them. Then said no one around in IT so expect me to come back and message him just coz she had already powered down her laptop. If its so urgent then power up again la... kns. Only know how to piss people off at all the wrong timings. I then called my recept and asked her to sametime my colleague, which is just so simple.

Anyway I can have an afternoon of peace here finally, with her away and hopefully dun come back till I leave office.

I'm bad!

Did a very naughty thing this morning. The train I boarded was quite crowded so when someone got off at Novena behind where I was standing, with 2 people in between, I squeezed through with "excuse me" and grabbed the seat. Can see that both of them were slightly moving towards the seat but I was too fast for them. No choice la, every day stand very siong leh, so must be abit auntie... hahaha...

Me at D&D

One of the two pictures taken with my colleague at the D&D last Friday. Used to call her boss coz she always calls me "bouncer" when we went on a trip to HK with many others back in 2001.

Me receiving a 5-years long service award of a certifcate and $100 will be credited to my bank account at pay day this month..

My MD giving out lucky draw prizes and I was lucky to be picked by him for the 12th prize. Not a re-drawn prize ok!

Irritating boss

Its back to work again and I felt especially sleepy when I woke up this morning. Slowly rolled to the office and lucky got a seat in the train today.

My colleague had gone off to our Jurong plant to prepare for our disaster recovery exercise tomorrow and my boss is becoming a pain in the ass. Kept coming out and ask me if he has reached the plant coz his sametime messaging is not on. No wonder he kept it off coz she's too irritating. Then she come out and nag about a faulty printer coz the idiot user go and complain to her. If I can control when the vendor is going to come down for servicing, I would not be sitting here. Stupid no brains... I just ignored her while she yakked non-stop in front of me.

p/s: I need more sleep!! When is weekend coming???!!!!

Dun feel like Monday...

Took half day leave today and met up with Web again. Had initually wanted to take a full day's leave but got a meeting to attend to bo bian. End up the stupid meeting only lasted less than 1/2 hr and topics dun really concern me. My boss obviously just miss my colleague coz he's on leave for 3 days last week so she needed someone to accompany her while she talked to him. Kns wasted my time, but at least good thing is I saved half a day's leave. Up till now, my leave balance is 10 days, just enough to meet the maximum days to carry forward to next year.

Went Vivocity again coz would expect it would not be as crowded as on Sat but I was wrong. Although the crowd was lesser, it still dun look like its a Monday today there. Families with children, students and other people who looked like dun need to work filled up the big mall. The food courts were especially packed so we tried "The Chicken Rice Shop".

Quite disappointed coz the service was quite bad as most of the staff looked like students, apparantly on vacation jobs. Wrong orders were taken and they can say its coz "two tables ordered the same food"! Wa like that also our fault ah? Worse is the table for 2 is barely sufficient to put all the dishes in their set menu for 2. The food wasn't as great too so I probably will not go back again in the near future, until maybe when they have settled down with a better standard and more friendly service. The manager especially had a face like we owed her $$. She even threw the menu on the table she directed us to. Almost wanted to walk out but everywhere was quite crowded so bo bian since we were already there.

Walked around after lunch coz was quite full. Web wasn't quite hungry so he din eat much and I had to finish most of the chicken, which was quite a challenge. We then walked over to Harbourfront Centre and had a drink at Mac before taking a bus down to Orchard.

Its back to Taka again and its as packed like it was a Saturday. Everywhere seemed to be full of people busy shopping for Xmas presents. Even saw a lot of people carrying carriers from Gucci, which is having a sale now. Perhaps its bonus time for most of the people so they could spend like that.

Had dinner at Seoul Garden, after cracking our heads what to eat. Was quite packed there too and as we were not damn hungry, managed to go 2-3 times for food only. I even kena "piak" by the oil on my left face, after that got one breakout there. We were quite bloated and smelly when we stepped out and walked a bit before heading home.

Misc

Dinner & Dance
We had our D&D finally last nite at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. As mentioned, we were released at 3pm so that we have ample time to dress up. Our theme this year was "Back to School". The dressing up thus was not so much for some (like me) but more for those who needs to go home and change etc. I usually cun be bothered but not that totally bo chup but I will just try to dress normally but safely within the theme. Dun want to be in the limelight la...

Went MTM to blend my products as planned and shopped around Tangs, Paragon and then Great World City before walking over from GWC. Waited almost 20 mins for the shutter bus to GWC that I have no more strength to serously shop by then. Trying hard not to perspire too much before reaching the hotel, kept indoors and after cooling down, walked slowly to the hotel from GWC. It was only about one bus stop away so reached the hotel slightly b4 6pm. Some colleagues, especially the committee members, were already there. Helped abit to do registration as people started rolling in. It was pretty interesting seeing so many people going back to school. Many came dressed up in unforms and sure looked like students! Some more matured one dressed as teachers or poly students. Din really take pictures coz by the time I reached, no more mood as was feeling sleepy and tired (after walking so much). Should have gone home and take a nap 1st... hahaha...
Anyway will post the pictures after getting them from the camera woman.

The overall of the nite was ok la, better compared to the years b4. Not that we had a better committee coz I believed everyone worked as hard each year but we have more budget to spend as years go by. The food was surprising quite good but I was not so hungry so din really eat much. But what I ate most is the turkey which was available only once a year near Xmas. The entertainment company was quite ok as they have an all rounder emcee, who was an Australian woman, with her helpers, a Malay guy and a Chinese gal. The emcee was witty, talented and definitely good at entertaining the crowd with her dancing and singing. They actually sang mandarin and hokkien songs too. They were really quite good even though they were not chinese. Money sure is not easy to earn nowadays.

Among all I just found the 1st game rather bo liao. We were split into 2 groups and started by having everyone going out to the front area (dancing floor area) in few seconds. After that, within seconds we have to take off our shoes and leave them there and run back to our seats. Next they messed up our shoes and expected us to run to the front again to get back our shoes in seconds and see which group finished 1st. I couldn't find one of my shoe and was panicking after the session ended. Damn pissed off by then but luckily found it hidden under our table. One of the colleague on our table (which was near the stage) actually grabbed some shoes and threw back at our area to let our group find our shoes faster. Dunno whether should thank or scold him man...

Some colleagues still could not find their shoes as other games proceeded that we finally had to ask the emcee to announce for people to start helping to find lost shoes. This stupid game then finally came to an end after everyone got back their shoes. The games that followed were sort of entertaining (although was feeling bored at some point of time), especially during the best dressed couple contest. Some colleagues who were nominated were really good performers! Such talent would have been hidden if not for this D&D. We had quite abit of laughter until I was feeling so warm and bloated.

The nite went quite fast as long services awards and lucky draw prizes were given out amidst the entertainment and games. I got myself a 5-year long service award of $100 and won the 12th prize in the lucky draw (a Swatch Leather strap watch - which was quite ugly).

It was then mass dancing time b4 going into disco time. We went out to take a break and chatted outside until time for the late night draw at 11.45pm. Obviously I did not win the prize of a 32" LCD TV. We then left while others party on. Called a cab and shared with my colleague who stays in AMK. Really tired by the time I got home coz was having a headache again due to the heat and excitement plus sleepiness and tireness.

My auntie
Went with parents and sis to visit auntie in TTSH this morning. She had an operation remove about 1/4 of her tongue and 2 veins coz it was infected with cancer. She quite poor thing coz she had diabetes some years back and had it under control but this had to happen. Hopefully after this operation, the cancer will not spread. She also need to go for chemo treatment after this, about 30 sessions I heard which will cost at least 50k+. Luckily one of her son bought medishield for her and it might pay off about 1/2 of the chemo fees.

Her husband was the uncle who passed away recently. We also heard she had finally been able to enjoy life now that all her children are grown up, and she finally is a Singapore Citizen some years back. As she was from Malaysia and she did not register her marriage with my uncle, she was a wanderer for years. She also managed to buy a flat some years back but now this had to happen. Wish that she would recover soon.

Too much walking
Went off to meet Web and we went to Vivocity. Walked a couple of rounds and we were both quite tired. There were many people as expected but not as bad as the last time I went with sis. The outdoor pool on the 3rd floor was also opened and there were already many kids playing in the pool. Some even came geared with swimming costumes! Its like a picnic ground for families and swimming pool for kids. Some of the shops were also opened on the 3rd floor, like Diaso. This is the 3rd branch in Singapore after IMM and PS, and was quite big but smaller than the one at IMM. The one at PS is damn small and always packed with people. Hope this will not be like the 1.99 shop trend (meaning open too many shops and end up close down).

Left shortly and went back to PS to have our late lunch (or rather tea time...). Surprising the crowd at PS was lesser as we suspected all probably migrated to Vivocity. Walked abit after lunch then walked down to Orchard area, Centerpoint, Heeren then Taka. Our last stop was at MOS Burger again for our favourite milk tea.

Weird
Went online to renew my library book at the NLB website then realised something weird. Wanted to venture how to pay bills (fines etc) online then tried to login. When I typed in my particulars to get a new account, it prompted me that a username with the details was already registered. But there was only an option to click if you forget your password but not your username, which is quite silly. So when I tried several common usernames that I might have use, "shirleysoh" worked. But when the password prompt question came out asking for my favourite colour, I tried a few and got it correct. The answer is quite a common colour but I dunno why I "put" that colour. I then login and changed my password. While trying to update my particulars while inside, realised the name, ic no., address etc are all wrong. It was someone by the name of Shirley Soh Sun Sun, also born in 1973. How coincidental can it be... and I was alarmed that there is this loophole in the NLB system. I then quickly wrote to the person with the email address registered explaining what happened.

I still did not manage to find my account username so will probably try to call on Monday to enquire and feedback on this ridiculous incident. Of coz there might not be any harm coz you cun borrow books online but just to play safe, NLB should develop a better secured system as personal information might fall into the wrong hands.

Still alive

Good thing I am alive and kicking today. Headache gone and all geared up for my company's D&D tonite. Had wanted to find my track pants but no time and was quite tired last nite so make do with the kaki pants I got, plus a polo tee. Hope look sporty enough to be a PE teacher, complete with track shoes and cap. Patsy also got whistles for all of us at our table.

Just read from the New Paper online this morning (yesterday's copy) where one more person died in his sleep. This is becoming quite common and its quite scary. Is life really too stressful and unhealthy in Singapore? Doubt so coz most of these people led healthy lifestyles and its really a mystery why they would just pass away in their sleep. Maybe stress in hidden in everyone one of us and we are beginning to reach the limit we can take soon. Thinking of it, so many people chose to commit suicide coz they find life too stressful or too much to handle. Some people did not even have a choice. Some people met with accidents or just like this, gone while sleeping. We should probably learn to relax more and enjoy social life than constantly working and leaves no room for our body to recuperate.

Anyway we have early release today at 3pm for preparation of our D&D so will probably drop by MTM to blend my products 1st and shop a while before going to the hotel earlier to see if they need any help.

Damn pissed off

Woke up with a headache again. Think my mind is telling itself boss is coming back from leave so automatically stressed itself up again. Of coz could be not enough sleep la, not surprised coz every weekday I dun seem to get enough sleep. Also could be my exposure to too much sun these days. Imagine lunchtime shopping since Monday... tomorrow still got somemore...

Anyway got no mood to work and felt like taking mc to go home and sleep but still got things to do and not much mc left. Went out to Bugis during lunch thinking to get some fresh air instead of couping up in office, especially with my boss around. Good thing was the sun was not so hot as covered by clouds (meaning going to rain sign) but bad thing was my headache was not getting any better.

Had helped Patsy to get some outstanding gifts from Seiyu then walked to Kino to grab a copy of "Her World". Its end of the year again so this is one of those bumper issue I will buy. Abit regret after that coz its not the ordinary heavy and I had to dragged it along while I made other purchases. Bought a Xmas card for Web on while passing by the Precious Thots shop and then to Watsons for some necessities. Then realised Patsy called me several times and I was probably too engrossed in shopping that I missed 5 calls! Called her back but no answer and finally she called me again. She wanted to tombang me to buy one more billabong wallet so I walked down again after Watsons to get one at the Wallet Shop. Completing my purchases finally with 3 big bags, I proceeded to the Customer Service counter to get some lucky draws coupons. Hopefully can win something la... after spending so much!

Had already grabbed a dumpling to eat before all my shopping so dun have to worry about food. Also sent in my sandals for servicing at Everbest counter finally and hope they can do something about the stupid pair of shoes. Already had it serviced for a different fault in Oct and now again. I think I will consider when buying Tracce shoes (under Everbest) again in future.

Just managed to step into the office feeling so warm and tired, arms aching then one of the HR colleague came over to inform that packing is starting soon. The HR director had ordered our company products for all staff and needed help to do the packing. I had agreed to help out but forgot its today. Nevertheless, rested awhile then proceeded to the pantry to join the rest.

There were only like 4-5 of us and it started quite badly. Actually its the HR temp la. She was damn disorganised and only know how to give order here and there but that's not helping much either. I supposed she dun have much experience in co-odinating this kind of thing and she definitely dun have the inborne talent of organising! Well, I was quite fed up so started the whole thing in a more systematic way. Problem then came coz she was not following what I said and sort of messed up the whole process. The initial packing started from me and another colleague, Dena, and along the way, they kept making mistakes like not putting the stuff in or din follow our line so got haywire. We have a total of 8 items and our front line already had 4. And we have 3 people packing the remaining 4 items but still make mistakes!

It was damn hot and stuff over at this pantry as it faces the afternoon sun. Midway I had to move a fan from my side to ease the air abit and provide some wind. Dena had to leave to attend to some work stuff as some colleagues came over. They weren't even aware that we have started and were commenting no one inform them of the timing. Well, this is how the HR works here lor. I was already having such a bad headache and was damn tired by then. Wanted to take a break while others take over but end up the one who took over me, another HR colleague left halfway, leaving the poor person packing 4 items all by herself. When I asked her about it, she said its too cramp there. Hello, so fat meh? Me and Dena got no problem when all we were surrounded by all the carton boxes and now only left few boxes... say NO SPACE???!!! Siao ah... dun want to do say dun want la, dun give such stupid excuses.

I had to go back to my production line again and realised they did not follow my instructions so end up some bags did not have 1 item when they checked. Oh ya, checking done by the HR temp, very heavy workload hor. Kns... I then heard her saying many times dun have this and that, hear already damn pissed off. Hello again, you are the one breaking off the production line and due to your poor organising, everyone is doing their own thing without following so who to blame? Really damn pissed off...

Finally finished all the packing and I just left leaving them (the HR temp and others) to clear up the mess. I was perspiring all over and looked so unglam! Decided to cancel my facial appointment coz not in the shape to go there (imagine I stink!) and also need some rest from my headache.

After back to my desk awhile, went off to help Patsy wrap some presents and its end of the day for me at work. Was also complaining to Dena over Sametime just before this and she agreed with me. She also wanted to grumble but was bz so we ended our conversation.

Oh ya, before I went off to help Patsy, overheard the HR director commenting some bags got no sweets etc, I was damn TL after hearing. Did she know how hard we worked and so under-manpower while her HR staff do nothing but just giving orders and act smart? Dun want to argue with her so just walked away. Rest assured there wun be a second time I will volunteer my help again!!

Ok, enough complaining... headache still not going off. Napped a bit just now after dinner coz cun take it any longer. Hopefully will subside by tomorrow.

Is it easy to put a smile one someone's face?

Is it easy to put a smile one someone's face? I think for some under-privileged children and orphans, it sure will.

My company is organising a Xmas cheer thingy whereby children from 4 homes are invited to a Xmas party together with Swissotel. Part of the programme is for each child to make a birthday wish and write it on a card and these wishes were sent to us. Staff will then select any wish from the list to fulfil.

On the 1st day of the selection days, I chose about 11 gifts. Not that I am greedy, but most of the stuff are similar items so might as well get them all at once then ended up each child will receive a different gift. Among those I chose are (1) Glitter Art x 7 (2) DIY Art & Craft x 1 (3) Glitter Pens x 1 (4) Jigsaw puzzle x 1 and (5) Cross Stitch x 1. Managed to find them all today at Bras Basah. Had intended to try Art Friend at Taka but no time to go down yet. The Art Friend at Bras Basah dun have what I wanted and some staff were not helpful and attentive at all.

Bought most of the stuff from a shop "Sagacity" located at the 2nd floor corner of the building. This shop is not a stranger to me as I have patronised since young since I am an art lover too. Imagine the person who served me was a 8 year old girl who was there to help out her mum. She introduced me to several stuff and I chose few things as each was very reasonably priced (very cheap too). She thought I was a school teacher but I told her its for some children's party. I even had a 10% discount as I bought up to $50 (after discount was $45.10). And that was for 36 items, tell me its cheap or not.

Its then off to Popular to search for other stuff (item 3 & 4). Bought what I wanted plus additional glitter glues for the children. Spent a total of $57.56 for about 11 items inclusive of 20% discount (year end member promo). Not bad, total spent around $110 for 11 children!

Other than what they wanted, I put in additional stuff so it will be both a wish fulfilled and a surprise for each child.

Let's see what each child will get:

7 children wishing for "Glitter Art" will get:
- 2 pcs of glitter art, 1 pack of glitter glue and 2 pcs of sand art

1 child wishing for a set of "DIY Art & Craft" will get:
- 1 Wind Chime painting set, 2 pcs of glitter art and 1 pc of sand art

1 child wishing for "Cross Stitch" will get:
- 1 cross stitch, 1 pc of glitter art and 1 pc of sand art

The 2 children who wished for glitter pens and jigsaw puzzle will just get what they wanted coz each is attractive enough!

I even took the effort to wrap each of them nicely, sticked their wishes onto the wrapped gifts themselves, plus a greeting inside for each of them! I think I can become professional wrapper already...

Anyway, check out the stuff I bought...

Its damn warm after all the shopping and walking back to office with 2 big bags. Also packed lunch along the way then perspired all the way again. Its then full blast fan while wrapping all the presents. Lucky thing boss is still on leave so its a good time to buy all the stuff today afterall.

Its been really fun, hope these will bring on a smile on each child's face! Merry Xmas to them too!
