Woke up quite late yesterday, almost 12.30pm probably due to abit headache (hangover from last nite's beer) and sore throat (woke up couple of times in the middle of the nite coughing). Took medicine before going out to meet Web.
Decided to attend the rally from the Workers' Party at Hougang so hanged ard at Hougang Mall. The last time I have been there would be like 3-4 years ago. Time really flies, the place really changed alot since then. Used to go there with frens for pool and bowling but since ceased when I stopped organising outings in 2001. We went to the library and found yet another Danielle Steel novel and borrowed it obviously. As usual, it damn noisy and crowded there so we left shortly and shopped around Popular and CD Rama. Bought 2 CDs (祝钒刚 - 2002's album & 张敬轩 - latest 2006 album). Wanted to buy 183 club's album but cun seem to find anything other than their 偶像剧's ones.
After dinner at the food court, we headed to the rally location. When Web said he wanted to go the rally, I din know it was the Workers' Party one until we were walking there. In my mind, I had thought alot of people would just support PAP. Nevertheless, its a real eye opener for me as I never attended any of such rallies since my area (Bishan-Toa Payoh) whole life is walkover. Can you imagine I have never voted in my entire 32 years!!
They (WP) actually brought up a few real facts (like upgrading and healthcare etc) which alot of people supported them. But in my opinion, even if they win, its too difficult to oppose a strong government by PAP. The session was quite interesting and humorous but wasn't quite enjoyable in terms of physical comfort coz it was damn hot with so many people (as many as 2-3 football fields full of people, maybe more - so surprised of the response) before the session started. It was worse when everyone was advised to sit down on the wet patches of grass so we dun block anyone's views due to the large crowd. Although someone handed us some newspapers, they were obviously not enough to counter the wetness. Even our underwear were wet after the 3 hrs' session. I din know have to sit on grass (still thought will have chairs) thus did not prepare any plastic sheets or more newspapers to sit on. It even drizzled a while before the rally started, making the grass more wet than before.
Finally reached home ard 11pm+ and luckily the bus journey was quite fast and I din have to wait long for my feeder bus (came immediately when I reached the bus stop after alighting from 153). Finally had a good bath coz was so sweaty and filthy after the rally.
