Suspected stomach flu

Thanks to the chilli taken on Saturday, I am having stomach flu again. Went loo 3 times yesterday and 3 times this morning... I was almost hugging my tummy when I was in the mrt train just now, lucky managed to get a seat when someone alighted at Toa Payoh station. Hopefully the pain will go off soon... no medicine here, probably take some chinese/ jap green tea later to ease the stomach abit. Now too full after drinking milo (need something hot just now) and 2 huge slices of pandan cliffon cake.

A visit to the hair salon with sis

My hair was extremely dry these few days, especially after the swim yesterday. Thus decided to go do hair treatment after work. Sis wanted to cut and dye her hair thus we had dinner at McDonalds before walking to the hair salon. Surprised to find that there were no customers in the salon thus we started our hair services immediately.

The Loreal hair treatment was actually quite good. It started with a leave-in conditioner for the dry hair ends with a heat treatment, followed by a massage shampoo wash then another round of leave-in conditioner followed by steaming. Look at my hair now, its so silky and smooth!!

Also signed up for a "Buy 5 free 1" treatment course and a shampoo for after swim wash. This should cure my itchiness (sensitive scalp plus the chemicals in the pool) after swim, as recommended byt the hair stylist.

My sis finally dyed her hair after years and she chose a brown which looks quite natural on her natural black hair.

The hair stylist even know I like very striking colour whereas my sis can only take natural brown (not too obvious).

Bad hair day!

Head itching as usual coz of the swim yesterday. Probably used the wrong shampoo thus resulting in a bad hair day again....arrghhh!

Only managed like 5hrs+ of sleep last nite as it took a while to fall asleep. Initially tot not so cold so din want to on aircon but end up that stupid fan making so much noise. Woke up with my eyes half closed as I went to wash up. Reached Bugis around 7.55am and waited for the shutter bus to my building and bought breakfast from the canteen downstairs.

Its a tiring Sunday..

Slept ard 1am+ last nite and woke up 10am to go to the loo. Probably had too much water last nite. After that lied back on the bed and fell asleep until like 1pm+. It was raining quite heavily too that's why cun wake up...just want to zzz n zzz....

As usual, went for game of pool and was quite tired standing and walking while playing. When we reached the swimming pool later, I almost din wan to swim... but end up still managed to swim 14 laps. It was quite cold as we stepped out of the water to bathe.

Had dinner at the hawker center. Din want to eat much but when Web came back and told me what he ordered, I almost fainted. Altogether, we ate fried hokkien mee, pork balls porridge, satay bee hoon and fried chicken wings, completed with a bowl of ice cocktail jelly and pineapple drink. Can you imagine how bloated I was when we left.... and my knees were aching!!

How I wish its holiday tomorrow and can sleep until late late!!

Rained but still a warm day..

It was raining quite heavily when I left the house to meet Web. Surprising there was no rain at Dhoby Ghaut area. Wanted to catch a movie at the new Cathay cinema but when we reached, all the shows were filling fast so we decided to skip. Walked around Plaza Singapura for a while and took a bus to Bedok for dinner.

Had bbq stingray, bbq sotong, grilled chicken wings and ba chor mee. We had 2 cups of sugar cane juice but end up Web wanted to drink some beer so we ordered a bottle and share. By the time I finished the beer, I was so warm with the beer in my body as well as the warm weather.

Walked around in Bedok Central before taking a train back. We walked alot today and I guess I am going to stick lots of medicated plasters again on my feet later...

Usual Friday

Nothing interesting as usual as I met Web again in Suntec and proceeded to Marina Square for dinner. Walked abit around Marina Square and went to Esplanade to see what outdoor performance they had. We both dun quite enjoy the band performance this time as the songs were too hip hop for our age. I have never heard any of the songs before so we just sat there chatting. At least there was some wind this time....

Another day just passed like that, while we took train home and I was so sleepy by the time I reached home.

Wow..

Puzzled
A laptop has gone misplaced or passed on to someone without any records while under our care. This is the second mystery case if confirmed no one took it. The last time, one laptop just gone missing...no reasons. Either we overlooked on security when people enter our computer room (got stolen) or its been taken by ghosts!

Dazed
Wanted to do some shopping and run some errands during lunch alone but when asked to join my colleagues, I completely forgot what I had intended to do (and also lack of time). Managed to get a pouch for my camera finally and wanted to do pedicure but the place was too crowded. Only walked abit round and round, up and down before I joined my colleagues back for desserts.

Shocked
Was sitting by watching TV last night and realised the nail polish on my toe nails cracked. Had to clean off and to my horror, my toe nails were sooooooo dry and yellow. Had to apply the nail treatment overnight and let it breathe abit. Felt so naked when I left home this morning and din manage to get a pedicure done so just did my own nails painting after lunch in office.

Bloated
Had fried hong kong mee just now, complete with honeydew sago for dessert. Now I am so full...
(Really miss Hong Kong...)

Relaxed
Haven't really work today except bits of tracking the stupid missing laptop earlier. No mood to work coz its weekend!!

Why ah?

Was quite bz on and off the whole day. Our dept had 3 briefing sessions on the Global IT Help Desk and I was bz going around pulling people in and marking attendances. Din sit in any of the sessions coz in between need to co-ordinate the other sessions. All becoz of that stupid boss who wants most people to come. She think everyone so free ah, its nothing important as the briefing is for info only anyway.

Went facial again just now and really fell asleep big time. Not so tired initially but I guess the atmosphere just made me sleepy. How come I never fell asleep on easily at home on my bed???

After facial realised that the left side of my nose (erm the space in between my nose and face) was quite painful. In fact both sides have been quite dry and peeling since days ago but today, the left side was quite bad. Wanted to buy my cleansing milk as its finishing but the beauticians suggested I see doctor for the dryness 1st before they know what to blend for my cleansing milk. Went to the GP and the doctor dun seem to know or think its anything serious thus gave me moisturiser cream to apply and suggested I wash my face 5 times a day not using any cleanser. I give up! He simply got no knowledge.

I called MTM after that and told them about it and they said I should have seen a skin doctor coz a GP may not know about skin. Adoi...say earlier la..waste my $24 (that's a year of $2 monthly if your bank account balance is less than $500 per month - read my sis' blog). Lucky can claim la, not so bad but waste my time. Will have to go back to MTM to get my custom blend cleansing milk after a few days and see how my skin becomes....ma fan~

Tuesday....shopping day!

Yeah, went shopping again with sis. Seems like a weekly affair nowadays coz we always din have enough time to shop all. Everytime will just have time for one or two places. Like today, spent almost an hr in Kinokuniya with us buying 6 books!

Here are 5 of my books (one bought yesterday - bottom middle), which 3 are from the famous compere 蔡康永.

Managed to shop around Taka for a while and bought some clothes (OP sale at Talking Hall) before my legs gave way. Finally rounded off with buying bread for tomorrow's breakfast then bought ice cream for sis. Sat and rested a while before setting off for home.

Check out my army-like jacket and black tee....

Brief shopping

Went for a brief shopping trip to Bugis during lunch and bought "Her World" and "Style" as both magazines got free bags (not so much for the bags but still worth collecting :P). Kino is having a storewide 20% discount for all members from last Saturday to this Friday thus I also bought one Sudoku book and a book by 蔡康永. Should be bringing sis to Kino again tomorrow evening as she might have some design books to buy.

Not sure if I am too familiar with Bugis that I cannot find anything else to buy. The weather is damn hot but its a good walk on a Monday.

Fast weekend

Weekend is spent doing similar things at similar places. Went to Marina Square for dinner (Changing Appetites) last Friday and walked around before settling down at Esplanade outdoor seatings to enjoy an overseas band performance. Warm night with no breeze at all.

Went East Coast again on Saturday, last time was like about a month ago. The weather was quite good and obviously the park was more packed than ever. Reached there ard 5pm+ after lingering at Parkway Parade area for a while. Managed to wait for a stone chair and sat there chatting until almost 9pm before we left for a light dinner.

As for Sunday, had family brunch at the Fortunate Restaurant in Toa Payoh. Felt that the service wasn't good, probably its too crowded and waiting for the food takes quite long. The food wasn't that fantastic too, really missed the restaurant we last ate in Hong Kong. The dim sim there were just fabulous! Thereafter, met Web for pool, swim and dinner. Another weekend passed so quickly...

张栋樑

Came across this in kennysia's blog earlier...and find it quite interesting. The quite famous 张栋樑 is actually his ex-school mate!

Kennysia made a comparison from 张栋樑's old year book to what he looks like now...

And now he looks like this:

Ain't he handsome?

Tiring shopping day..

Its shopping day again and was waiting for sis at HMV Heeren. Browsed around for almost 1/2hr+ and ended up buying 3 CDs (2 for sis and one mine) at $7.95 each. There were a few older albums on sale at $4.95-$7.95 but when we realised its china version, we decided not to buy as Chinatown is selling these at ard $6 each for all titles.

Really shocked to see so many places selling china version CDs and at such a steep price. Now other than looking out for the round hologram sticker, pls make sure you read the back in small print where this CD is from (most of the time will say "Prohibited for sale outside China" or "Made and manufactured in China"). Not that you cun buy la, but no point coz the actual price is only like $3 if you buy in China and $6 if you buy it here. They actually marked up the prices so much and its not worth it. Furthermore, these are not legalised so if you really like the singer, buy original versions. If you just like to buy some for listening pleasures, go Chinatown, cheaper.

We went to Pasta Mania at Cineleisure for dinner and I actually did not finish my pasta!! I ordered Alfredo (cream sauce) and think its too much and got sick after a while. Shopped around Cineleisure for a while before we left for Centrepoint and OG Orchard. Walked by Robinsons 1st and surprised to see there's a cardmember preview sale going on. I dun remember receiving any mailers (or they sent too early until I forgotten??). Anyway nothing much at OG Orchard or Robinsons so we dragged our feet to take train home.

My legs were almost giving way by the time I reached home, really getting old...

New shoes!!

Been eyeing this pair of shoes since like dunno how many months ago, and been thinking about it everytime I pass by Cineleisure coz they cost $119!! Today, I finally plucked up my courage and bought them!! I dun see any other places selling them thus was trying my luck to see if there's still my size available. I asked for sizes 7.5 and 8 but only left with 8.5, and I can actually wear (due to small cutting)!!! I paid $95.20 with a 20% discount (pay by NETS or UOB Credit card get 20% off - preview of the Great Singapore Sale).

Yeah!!! So nice!!! Oh my...I looked so lovely with them on!!! And its all green!! Xris dun envy me....hahaha...

p/s: forgot my bag of CDs when I was trying the shoes and only realised when we were walking to Centrepoint. Wanted to call the shop 1st but no tel no. listed on the receipts or carrier (ridiculous!!). Walked back to the shop and luckily the salegal kept it for me...phew!!

Ponder..

What would you do if you meet someone you like? Not in the sense like strangers, but probably someone you know in your office, among frens or any other activities. I think alot of people will hesitate to make the 1st move, especially gals. I dunno what I will do now, maybe just wait and see or will just try to get to know this person (basic introduction etc.) 1st. Then I will hint to this person I like him, if not just tell him straight. I dun hv that much patience to wait and wait, might as well get it over and done with. If he likes me too, good. If not, get over it and find the next target!! Hahaha..

I supposed everyone has their fair share of crushes since school time. Not that we spend our school days eyeing other guys la, but they are part of the movitation, if not anything else, for us to look forward to school everyday. I used to like a guy in primary school but he seems to dislike me as I often seen him giving me unfriendly and aloof look. I had admired several guys in my class during secondary schools which I did talk to them but we were not those close kind. I was very shy then thus obviously nothing happened then. I became bolder in Pre-U times but too bad there were too few guys around (ratio is 1 guy to 4 gals). When I finally started working and got more involved in IRC gatherings, I got to know more frens and among them, I remembered I had 2 admirers who confessed to me but I see them only as frens or brothers and did not have special feelings thus let them down. I liked and confessed to one guy, he sort of rejected me and I realised he actually had a gf then and broke off few times before he eventually got married to her (weird hor), so I gave him up. Then I liked another guy but ended up he became my fren's bf (they were drunk and left lovebites on each other's neck and somehow they became a couple). Anyway, relationship was not on my priority then as I was enjoying every bit of singlehood and the fun. Since then, I seldom have crushes anymore, maybe coz I am much older now (think more maturely) and gotten tired of fruitless infactuations. I think money is more important!

I used to think that I will only get involved (attached) with a guy when I truly understand him and we share similar thinkings and interests. I was quite strict in a sense so I did not take any guy who comes along. Later on, I changed my thinking that I should try out and see if whoever comes along is suitable for me. Both ways dun quite work so I sort of give up after 2 heartbreaking relationships. I am glad I finally found someone now and sure hope we will live happily ever after...

"Poseidon" review

Storyline:
It's New Year's Eve and festivities have begun aboard the luxury cruise Poseidon, at sea in the North Atlantic.

One of the finest vessels of its kind, Poseidon stands more than 20 stories tall, boasts 800 staterooms and 13 passenger decks.

Tonight, many of the ship's guests have gathered to greet the new year in style in the magnificent Main Ballroom. They raise champagne glasses as Captain Michael Bradford (ANDRE BRAUGHER) delivers a holiday toast and the band (led by FERGIE of the Black Eyed Peas) rolls into a version of Auld Lang Syne.

Meanwhile, on the bridge, the First Officer senses that something is wrong.

Scanning the horizon, he sees it – a Rogue Wave; a monstrous wall of water over one hundred feet high, bearing down on them with tremendous speed. He tries to steer the ship away from maximum impact but it's too late.

The wave strikes with colossal force, pitching the ship heavily to port before rolling it completely upside down. Passengers and crew are thrown into free fall, crushed by debris or dragged into the sea as water bursts in through shattered windows. Supports collapse, broken gas lines ignite flash fires and lights fail, leaving vast sections of the ship in darkness and chaos.

In its aftermath a few hundred survivors are left to huddle in the still-intact Main Ballroom, now resting below the waterline. They should stay together, the captain maintains, and wait here for rescue.

One man, professional gambler Dylan Johns (JOSH LUCAS), prefers to test the odds alone. Ignoring orders, he prepares to exit the Ballroom and find his own way to safety, but is collared by eight-year-old Conor (JIMMY BENNETT), who asks that Dylan take him and his mother Maggie (JACINDA BARRETT) along. Fast behind them is Robert Ramsey (KURT RUSSELL), anxious to search for his daughter Jennifer (EMMY ROSSUM) and her fiancé Christian (MIKE VOGEL). Only an hour earlier this young couple had found it impossible to tell him they were engaged and now face much graver challenges.

Wary of alliances, Dylan reluctantly leads the small band of survivors upward through the bowels of the ship. Those who choose to join them rather than wait below include a shy stowaway (MIA MAESTRO), a suicidal man (RICHARD DREYFUSS) who re-discovers his will to live and a young waiter with knowledge of the ship's layout (FREDDY RODRIGUEZ).

Determined to fight their way to the surface, they must forge a path together through layers of wreckage as the ship continues to sink. Bonds form quickly in this journey of vertical climbs, dead ends and sheer drops. And trust proves vital.

The story happened quite fast (within the starting 15 mins of the show) as the cruise ship overturned after a tsunami-like wave hit it in the middle of the vogage. The ship was capsized and overturned (ceiling became ground, 1st floor became last floor etc) and this group of people decided to face the odds and find a way out going through the floors to the place where the ship propellers were (meaning the top floor after the ship overturned, instead of the lowerst part of the ship). Weird thing is that they managed to survive many rounds of dangers when they were finding their way through with explosions and flooding.

There was a part when all of them had to swim through a passageway to reach another section, I was surprised and found it ridiculous that all of them can swim logn distance under the water, even a kid (me and Web tested swimming for a breath-length in the swimming pool the other day and din manage to hold our breath!). Eventually 3 people were sacrificed before they finally got out of the ship, surprisingly to a floating lifeboat in the sea. We were thinking, why can't they just find a door or window through to the open sea in the last level they were at when the ship overturned and swim out into the sea instead of going through so much to get up each floors. Dun tell me there is no exit at all in the ship...which is even more ridiculous.

Anyway the show is ok to watch la, except most of the things that happened are not vey factual. Comparing to the "Titanic" show, its definitely lacking alot in storyline and excitement.

Dizzy day

Couldn't get to sleep last nite, was tossing and turning until when it was time to wake up for work, my head was spinning and I cannot bring myself to sit up straight at all. Decided to declare day off and messaged colleagues to take charge of running the daily sales and handle the helpdesk phone.

Continued to sleep until ard noon time amidst the noise (drilling sound that lasted almost the whole day and noisy neighbours) and managed to walk to the toilet and washed up, and lao sai before heading back to bed after trying to login to print something for my colleague. The network was damn slow and I had a hard time sitting there as my head was still spinning. Went to the toilet again for 2nd round of lao sai and slept until ard 4pm. Woke up to go toilet and took medicine finally and lazed in bed somemore while the dizziness slowly subside. I did not have the energy to find and take my medicine for giddiness earlier.

Din take any food at all until dinner time (and surprisingly din feel hungry) which I had my 2 bread which were intended for my breakfast this morning. Now more or less feeling better and din want to lie on the bed, scared become more dizzy again. What a day...truly a long weekend for me!

Bravo Liverpool!!

Went to Great World City again yesterday and finally managed to get tickets for a movie this time. Watched Poseidon but found the show extremely ridiculous. Check my review on the show on the next blog entry.

Walked down to Roberson Quay while stopping by the nearby temple. Heard from Web the other day that Liverpool Club in Singapore had opened another clubhouse in some country club in Jurong and wanted to find out if the Reds cafe at UE Square is still there. As expected, it's closed now so we had thought of going down to Rendezvous Hotel to catch the live FA Cup Finals (Liverpool Vs West Ham) then realised bus service 139 no longer stops at the bus stop and we were like 20 mins to end of happy hour at 8pm (one for one offers) thus settled down at one pub with outdoor sittings at Robertson Quay.

The pub (The Chamber) has about 2 big screens outside with more than 30 tables. Ordered beer and some snacks while we waited for the match to begin around 9.55pm. The place was quite packed by 9.30pm and the tables were almost all taken up. It was really a huge crowd and we suspected everyone who went to the Reds Cafe would have found it closed and decided to drop by as this place is just across the road and seeing so many other fans around (mostly wore jerseys) thus all joined in. The other pubs around were also packed by the time the game started and many others were seens standing around trying to find a table.

The match was truly a most exciting match I ever seen as the West Ham team wasn't expected to score but turned out they had 3 goals and luckily the Liverpool team managed to equalise at the 90 mins extra time by Gerrard. Liverpool played really badly this time as hearsay they wanted to save their energy and to avoid any injury for the World Cup matches (most of the players in the team are country players in the World Cup). In this case, we saw them playing so bo chup and not chasing after the ball most of the time. West Ham players were not in any World Cup team and you should see how well they played (coz they got nothing to fear for so all gave their best). Ironically, most Liverpool players were limping by the end of the game. As a winner had to be chosen, the game was extended for 30 mins after a draw by end of full-time (90 mins + injury time) and the score was still 3-3. Penalty kicks (5 balls each) were done and Reina (from Liverpool) managed to save 3 balls thus the champion finally goes to Liverpool (match report here)!! Bravo Reina, you finally woke up!!

The cheering after each goal was scored was really an eye opener for me. Not only did alot of people shouted and cheered, Web also stood up and shouted. I was stunned sitting there (coz I never seen this side of him) the 1st time he stood up and dunno what he shouted and jeered. 2nd time he stood up, I had to hold the table as he almost knocked it down. 3rd time was when Gerrard sent in the last goal at the 1 min injury time after full-time. Many others also stood up and jeered at the West Ham supporters (only a group of ang mohs who who actually made more noise along the match, especially when West Ham scored). By the time the Penalty was done, everyone was going crazy as I saw people standing on the chairs. I never knew these people can be so excited as this is probably the 1st time I watched a live final game with so many other Liverpool fans. I was feeling so excited but did not behave like them la. I just simply sat there and clapped (and prayed that Liverpool will win), cool hor....haha...

Watched the prize presentation and Prince William (see 1st picture, the guy who turned away at the bottom in grey suit) is the prize presenter! Left to take taxi while Web dropped me off 1st. Reached home ard 1.30am+ and went to bed shortly after bathing. Fell asleep quite fast coz quite tired and partly due to the beer. Woke up at 12 noon and had quite a long dream. Going to start prepare for a day of pool and swimming..

Vesak Day

Its Vesak Day again, which also happened to be my grandpa's 4th death anniversary. We gathered at grandma's place ard 12 noon and surprised to find the crowd quite dense. 3 uncles and their families did not turn up at all, meaning we have 11 people less. Coincidentlaly, those present were all females, except for my dad. Done praying almost to 1pm then went downstairs to burn the joss papers and a new set of clothes for grandpa. As usual, only members of our family went down (last time still got another cousin and brother but they were both not around this time). I finally learnt how to twist and loosen the joss papers for burning. Great achievement to me coz it took me long time to master abit...haha.

When we came upstairs, we settled down a while before grandma started tossing 2 coins to ask for permission to start lunch. The food were laid for grandpa to eat 1st (chinese tradition) and 2 coins were thrown to have one flower and one head side to indicate he had eaten and we can proceed to eat. Grandma did the throwing many times and so did my dad but both coins kept showing the same face. Grandma then "talked" to my grandpa to explain why the others were not here and sort of begged grandpa to forgive them. It was heartwrenching as I can imagine how disappointed grandpa felt. Finally the coins showed different sides and we started our lunch. Dad then explained that grandpa liked crowds and probably weren't happy that so many people were not around.

The food weren't that fantastic but ate quite abit coz was damn hungry by then. Went back home to bathe and prepared to go out to meet Web. Actually bathed 2nd time this morning coz did not anticipated the burning joss papers part which made us perspire and stink from the smoke.

Was supposed to join Web's frens for gathering (movies and dinner) but their timing was too early so we skipped the gathering. Walked around PS for a while and sort of craved for the MarryBrown chicken drummets so we took a bus to Changi Airport for dinner. There were so many people there, possibly celebrating Mother's Day in advance. We only stayed in T2 and sat watching people (especially lots of screaming children) at the viewing gallery after dinner. The viewing gallery has became so miserably small and we think it might just disappear one day to make way for restaurants etc in future, to generate more revenue for the airport.

Finally took a bus back to Ang Mo Kio before we parted our ways to go home.

Work sucks

Its coming to a long weekend, and by right I am supposed to be in a good mood but apparantly not. I am pissed off today with my colleagues.

This job really sucks. Its been really too long I am here that I simply cannot stand people here. First, my boss is an asshole. Other than constantly getting on my nerves and irritates me, there are these few colleagues in my dept whom naturally has a mind of their own and sometimes refused to co-operate. Generally we get along well but due to unforseen situations, I ended up quite pissed with them at times.

I have this colleague, who drove me home sometimes, a female and most senior in the group. She is ok except that she is very reluctant to offer any assistance to users and kept pushing it back to me. Then there is one guy colleague, who also has his weird temper to begin with, sometimes will direct users to me anyhow (which the job will eventually go back to him, waste my time).

The last colleague is the most irritating coz he never fails to irritate me when I am already feeling pretty agitated. When I eat in, he likes to come behind me and look at what I am eating. Wasn't him educated that this behavious is so rude??!!! He did this again today and that got me really fed up. I usually eat in only when no one else is around, so no one will come and disturb me. In addition, he likes to go lunch late with the other temp doing desktop support ard 2pm+ and when users call, I cannot handle. Really an idiot! Have told him so many times to spare a thought for me but he probably bo chup!

There are of coz other colleagues from different depts whom I dun think I want to mention. So you see, this place truly sucks. Especially when I am already in a very foul mood.

What a day! I just cut my finger when I tried to open a plastic box..

4th Facial session at MTM

Did a different facial last evening. Its called Oxygen something to lift my face and close up the big pores. I even get to breathe and inhale oxygen, just like in hospital...quite funny. Obviously I feel asleep during this part (also with mask on). I had to top up $62 from one of my facial sessions. The result was good la (face abit sharper, dark eye rings not so obvious, pores smaller) but far too ex. The beautician suggested I take up a package of 10 sessions for this Oxygen thing but I told her I dun think I want to sign up more packages even though I can pay by installments. Its very siong you know...no joke!

Reached there about 20 mins earlier than my appointment time at 6.30pm and luckily able to start soon after. Finished around 8.10pm and went to buy bread home for breakfast today.

Pictures of my new Swatch

Isn't it nice and unique? Also my favourite colour red!!

Irritating callers

Being in a big organisation like the one I work in, I constantly face problems of answering cold calls from small or big companies who uses telemarketing to try to enter into our list of vendors. Meaning they want to secure business dealings with us coz we are a potential profit generator for them.

Worse is these companies either employ irritating, rude or ignorant people who simply knows nothing about what they are marketing or have staff that are so arrogant that they simply pisses you off everytime they call. I even had the rare opportunity to tell a CEO of a particular company off for being so rude to me coz I refused to put the call through to my director and refused to accept when I told him "we do not require your services at the moment". As simple as it sounds, which director got time for such nonsense, less to entertain them, so poor me always have to chase these callers away.

Some callers are quite courteous so I make an effort to explain to them pls stop calling as we do not require anything else and everything is place here and at times will just try to cut the conversation short by giving my email address for them to send whatever profile they have, and erase them when I receive. Some callers just hanged up after I said we are not interested, without even a word of thanks. Some companies apparantly only have those senior staff to do all these shitty work of calling potential customers, at the same time pissing people off coz they think they are so big deal. What the heck, I dun care who you are, as long as you get on my nerve, refused to be courteous or I just hate your voice... u gonna get it from me. Complain all you want, which I also dunno who you can complain to...good luck.

I dun understand these people, dun they realise by common sense that big companies obviously will have everything in place (else we gonna kena fined for any penalties) and will not have time to entertain every vendor who calls. Kindly be sensible enough to target those small firms instead and stop wasting our time, and worse irritate me!

If my damn free director is leaving all this shit to me, dun blame me for giving the shit back to them. If she is so free to comment, jolly well answer the calls herself and spare me the agony of going through this at least 3-4 times a day! Whoever not happy, complain la...

Stomach upset... and more

Woke up tired as usual. Dunno what's wrong with me lately. Kept going to bed as early as possible (b4 12am) but waking up feeling so tired. I seldom have dreamless nites so it probably contributed to the tireness (dream too much).

Went to the toilet twice already this morning, not sure if its the fish I ate last nite. Only upon finishing I realised that the fish wasn't that fresh. The sauce had nicely camouflaged the stale taste maybe. I almost couldn't make it to the office, luckily the feeling subsided when I reached the office.

I wrote quite alot these days, not sure if its "bloggish mood" like Xris always say or what. Maybe I am also too free in the office..haha (pls dun tell my boss). Just simply got no mood to work, simply bo chup and just want to do my own stuff. I seldom tok to me colleagues unless necessary. Its probably one of those down periods. I need a break!! No joke... There is completely no motivation to drive me, unless weekend is coming. So I supposed tomorrow I will be quite productive, as like any other Friday.

Good grief we have another holiday day (Vesak Day) on Friday, then followed by Mother's Day on Sunday. After this round, will have to take leave once in a while to re-charge until National Day in August. This Friday is also my grandpa's 4th death anniversary, time really flies. Most likely there will be praying in the morning on that day, followed by lunch at my grandma's place.

I remembered when my grandpa was alive, I din tok much to him. Its more coz of language barrier. Since young, we spoke English and Mandarin in my own family, which of coz my grandparents spoke hokkien. Naturally we cannot communicate with each other than normal greetings. I feel rather sad when he passed away that we were not able to create a bond between us. I feel sadder when I see my grandma alone walking around the neighbourhood nowadays and I cannot bring myself to approach her, simply becoz I know I will not be able to tok to her. Partly coz she's a bit deaf by now and I cun be shouting to her in hokkien when I have problem to even speak using it.

Due to the strict upbringing, I have little to say to my parents (esp my dad) too. Its usually during monthly family dinners that my brother will get everyone toking. It still sounds awkward sometimes, like strangers who rarely know each other. This is partly coz of the strict upbringing that we are never close to our parents, and that most of the time we do not dare or want to speak further. Excuses apart, I think this is the cause of cultural attributes of Chinese. The general traits of the Chinese, especially to older folks, are that they are not vocally or physically expressive. Look at western countries and their cultures, you will know what I mean. Its sad coz as young people become more westernised and more modern, there will be this barrier between us and the parents. I guess this will never change, unless we try very hard to open up to each other.

I got disturbed by a stupid user, who did not follow instructions and now start to complain. Spoilt my blogging mood... Shall continue again soon..

Finally went shopping!

It was raining very heavily when I was about to leave the office at 5.30pm. Ended up left at 6pm and got my pants and shoes partially wet when I walked to the shutter bus using my miserable small umbrella. Its not so bad when the rain is not too big but lazy to carry a big one coz upon reaching Bugis mrt stn, it will be all the way sheltered to Orchard so wun need.

Was still toking to sis online before she left at 6pm and got half of her jeans soaked when she walked to the bus stop. It took her a long time to wait for the bus and finally reached Orchard by 7pm++. By then, I had already returned my library book and walked like 2-3 rounds in the library at Taka, and sat down to wait for her. We had dinner at Breeks and ordered one appetizer and 2 main courses, which made us both very full. Shopped around Taka and I finally used part of my vouchers to buy a very funky looking bracelet kind of watch at Swatch. Its red and white in colour and looks more like an accessory bracelet. Have not taken a picture of it thus will probably post it tomorrow. Cun find the picture on the website, maybe its too new.

My legs are aching by now thus its time to hit the bed...

Bz lunch time

Had a few errands to run during lunch. Had to go to the bank 1st so in order to avoid the lunch time crowd, left early ard 11.50am. Wanted to go much earlier but I think better not, too obvious. Anyway, there was a already a long queue at the bank when I reached ard 12.02pm. I had exactly 9 people ahead of me and there was only 2 counters open out of 3. Not that it makes a difference of the waiting time, but it was indeed faster when the 3rd one opened. I wonder what is everyone doing queuing up to deposit money when there is a cash-in machine there. I had no choice coz my note cun be accepted by the cash-in machine. Had sold some laptops for my company and they had the good grief to give me a $1000 note. I had to cash in, then write a cheque to my accounts, how "convenient".

Had to return a library book dued tomorrow but as I was rushing out. forgot about it and only realised when I walked out of the building. Guess have to bring it along tonite to return at the Orchard library. Went to the Hans restaurant at the library to buy a sausage roll and sandwich before going down to the public library to see if there's any books to borrow. Coming out empty-handed and started to munch on my sausage roll then realised the gal gave me a tuna roll instead. Went back to change and the counter gal wasn't so courteous and no words of sorry at all. This is the kind of customer services we get in Singapore, and they are promoting the best service campaign, how ironic.

Walked on to Bugis Junction and shopped around. It was so damn hot today as I perspire even in the aircon building. Bought 2 Sudoku (or Suduko - dunno how to spell as there are a few versions anyway) books for sis as she finished all of hers. Waited for my colleague while I tried to find a spot to cool down but in vain. He finally came and we chose a watch for him to give someone he likes. Finally left Bugis and walked under the hot weather back to office, perspiring more. Got a briefing at 3pm and hope the room wun be too warm.

Thoughts for the day

I am yawning away as I am typing this. Its been a quiet morning except for some callers and my boss who came over very excited as our sales was sort of tripled than what we have daily. I asked my colleague in the sales dept about it, and she said the huge sales was coz of a tender supply to the govt, and asked me to tell my boss we are all working to get good bonus for this year, not like her. I was almost tempted to send it across to my boss haha...

My boss is not even in the sales dept or somewhere near, but in the IT dept which I think its a place which truly hides her talent. We have nicknamed her Deputy Sales Director, since she is always more concerned about sales figues than anyone else. We also regret that she did not run for the elections last week as she is probably the most political figure around here. She not only analyses situations well, can more or less predict the future and best of all, create politics (office politics if you still do not get what I mean). Its a pity for the Aljunied GRC opposition party (the area she is from) to have missed such a good potential candidate. Oops, shall not touch on politics more as its a pretty sensitive issue.

Ok back to myself. I slept around 10pm+ last nite, due to the usual tireness on a Monday. The 5566 show was suddenly not as exciting and fun to watch, mainly coz one permanent guest was taken out, not sure if temporary or for good. She's a jap who came to Taiwan and could now speak Mandarin quite well - her name is 麻衣. I never realise I like watching her until she is gone. Switched over to channel 52 to watch 康熙来了 with Tarcy Su as the guest appearance. It was funny but not as hilarious as some other episodes. Went to sleep thereafter but still felt very tired today. I guess I will never have enough sleep... *yawnz*.

Wanted to take a break, go for a short trip but no one seems to be able to make it. Really missed Hong Kong suddenly and the fun of rushing to different places to shop there. How nice if we dun have to work.... I reckon that its possible to go Hong Kong again this year, as my mum will be having her knee operation on 20 June. Me and sis cun possibly travel with her not able to walk without support for months. Xris cun go on shopping trips again until she clears her debts, I will not ask her to go anyway. Web is definitely not keen to go on shopping trips, or rather he does not look forward to any travelling. I cannot imagine my life without getting out of Singapore occasionally. Looks like I have to stay put for the time being until dunno when....

Be a better person..

Sometimes I really dunno what is wrong with young people. They seem unable to control their tempers and emotions. For a simple thing, they will just get pissed off for nothing as if they are a big deal. They often fail to think if they are in the wrong or be sensible enough to analyse the situation before they blew up their tops. Some are probably too spoilt, usually when they are the youngest in the family. In general, youngest kids in the family are always the ones getting all the goodies and everyone seems to have to put up with them.

In the family being the eldest, I get alot more shit than my younger siblings. Not that my parents dun love me as much, but they usually shield the younger ones more. Before my sis was born, I had to fight with my brother constantly for whatever stuff and ended up both were punished, even though he is always the one in the wrong. Why on earth should I suffer also? Coz I am the eldest! Being the eldest means if you fight with your younger siblings, its your DAMN FAULT! Being the eldest means I have to set a good example, which ended up younger ones behaved much worse and are surprisingly forgiven unconditionally.

When my sis grew up, I started fighting with her. Not that I truly enjoyed it but she just got this temper which sometimes I cannot tolerate. Usually when we argue or suddenly something pisses her off (which alot of simple things just pissed her off for nothing, just dun understand why), you should see the way she behaved. She will start shooting all the bad words and whatever hurting words that you cun imagine coming out from her mouth. If you cannot behave in a civilised way, how do you expect people to respect you and treat you back nicely? In such cases, I ended up keeping quiet and shut myself in my room so as to avoid a huge argument (coz if I scold her back, more hurting and bad words will flow out from her mouth and gets both parties unhappy, what's the point?). If I ended up quarrelling with her, it will be my DAMN FAULT again anyway coz I am the eldest...how great.

What can I say? I just hope young people can learn to be more tolerative and understanding as they are not the only ones in the universe, being self-centered and only think of nothing but their own. At least my brother grew up to be a better and more matured person than kicking a big fuss over small issues (hope he does but he's not living with us anymore so I dun hv to put up with his nonsense again even if he does not change). Maybe its the differences in the growing up process, people think and behave differently.

Although I am not a saint myself, at least I tried to tolerate and tolerate and tolerate. I am not expecting everyone to be saints, but at least have the heart to be compassionate to yourself, your family and your friends. We are not here to put up with all your nonsense. We put up becoz we love each other and not born to come and fight with each other. Everywhere everyone is fighting, for whatever reasons which no one will ever understand. Fighting for status, fighting for land, fighting for money, fighting for women, fighting to live, fighting for food etc.....it never ends... Why cun everyone loves each other and make this world a better and harmonious place to live in?

Monday again...

Was feeling very tired when I woke up this morning. Almost dreaded coming to work but its usually quite bz on Mondays so I will not leave my colleagues to suffer.

Head was itching again as usual, after swimming yesterday. Only did 10 laps yesterday as I found myself having not much stamina and breath, probably coz still down with cough.

I am now feeling moodless and wished I could go home and zz...

Fast food day

No plans to go anywhere far (like East Coast) and thought of catching a movie so went down to Great World City again with Web. Forgot that its a public holiday (Election Day) and the cinema was quite packed. Most of the shows are running low on seats thus we skipped watching again.

Wanted to buy lemonade from KFC but ended up eating there. Had burgers the nite before at the rally so sort of craved for the KFC chicken. We ordered 2 piece crispy chicken to share and a box of hot wings (I find it pretty ex as it was $3.20 for only 3 pieces of small drummets). Walked around abit at GWC and took the shutter bus to Chinatown, intending to take a bus from there to Holland Village. Upon reaching, we walked abit around there and ended up sitting at McDonalds for drinks and shared a double fillet-o -fish!

By the time we left Mac, abandoned the idea of going to Holland Village and walked to Apollo to check out if the music lounge 木船 is still there. Shocked that its indeed not there anymore and not sure where they have moved to. Walked on down to Peninsula Excelsior hotel to check out the lobby lounge. The lobby was surprising very nice, in contrast to the way it looked from the ground floor, shopping mall and surrounding area of the hotel.

Proceeded to Raffles City and settled down at Burger King (3rd fast food chain for the day!!) for a drink. No more food this time as we sort of freaked out by then. Chatted for a while and left to go Bishan for some fish balls soup and fried carrot cake and left for home. Its yet another aimless tiring day..

Home in time to catch part of the results of the 2006 General Elections. Other that Hougang and Potong Pasir which went to the opposition parties, all the rest are uncontested or won by the PAP once again. The results were more or less quite expected and hope I get to vote next time!
